Comments about Colonial Needle Company Rosewood 16" Circular Needles:

The length problem is totally my fault. These were free with purchase and I simply didn't think about the logistics of a size 8 that is only 16 inches for the cord. The cord is thick enough that the stitched don't catch and the wood is very slick and smooth. Like all wood, they warm nicely in the hand and are very light weight. If you are used to something very sharp with a metal tip, you will be disappointed in the wood. They are blunter than you will get with nickle tips.

Comments about Colonial Needle Company Rosewood 16" Circular Needles:

The first set of these needles I got was a free offer with purchase and I fell in love with the rosewood needles in the size 5. When I went back to order the size 7, it sold out before I could finalize my checkout process. And they have been discontinued. I tried looking up Colonial Needles online and hit one dead end after another. Please encourage the company to bring these back!!

The yarn does NOT slide on these ! The wood is sticky, I bought about 8 pairs and the price is

Comments about Colonial Needle Company Rosewood 16" Circular Needles:

I used these to solve a tight spot on my socks knitted with the magic loop technique. At one point, I needed a spare, *small* circular knitting needle, and this was the perfect fit.

After I have finished my test sock, I'm going to try knitting socks on this tiny circular needle.

Comments about Colonial Needle Company Rosewood 16" Circular Needles:

I'm really sad that I don't like these needles more. I bought these $$ needles as a treat for myself, but they fall short of what I thought they'd be like. For starters, the wood part of the needle is very long for 16" and it's difficult to cast on for a small hat (I routinely do 72 stitches on similar needles). The cord is VERY thick and makes it near impossible to slide the yarn easily when trying to knit the first row. I gave up and cast on with a metal pair and then transferred the stitches onto these. I finally got everything working, but the tip of the needle is very sharp and jabbed me through out the project. I will say they are very pretty needles - I just wish they worked a little better!
