It is hand dyed by the great folks at Dream in Color in such a way that you will not get the usual "pooling" associated with hand dyed yarns. Dream in Color Classy is perfect for garments for babies to adults and great for accessories and blankets too! Made in the USA.
Please note: Each skein of Dream in Color Classy is unique. There are no dye lots and skeins may vary.

This yarn is gorgeous. Rich colors, but looks like a kettle dye with very subtle variation. Washable, cushy, soft. Commenters remark that it feels like there's acrylic in it when you're knitting. It's true of most super wash that it really softens up after the first washing. I made a baby blanket in garter stitch as a gift, and it's incredibly lofty and warm, but soft enough for a baby. This is a real workhorse yarn, but with the additional interest of the fantastic dye treatment.

I bought 6 skeins of Blue Lagoon to make a Mondo Cable Cardi by Chic Knits. As with many super-wash yarns, the washed swatch did grow some so be sure to complete a full-sized swatch to obtain proper gauge. I alternated two skeins every other row, but the intensity of the dyes was so different between skeins that the sleeves are noticeably lighter. Knots were in three skeins, one of which had three knots. This is a particularly bad problem in a super-wash wool with a sweater knitted in one piece because it is difficult to splice the yarn and difficult to invisibly weave in the ends.
Any one of these issues alone might have been acceptable, but in a premium yarn, it is really unsatisfactory. I emailed the manufacturer, but never received a response. The sweater is soft and comfortable, and I hope I forget the process of knitting the yarn soon. The problems would be less noticeable in small projects or multi-colored projects. Lighter colors may bleed less.

I ordered six skeins for a project, all at one time. I noticed there was no Lot # on the skeins, but they all looked alike, so I proceeded. Three skeins into the project, I was appalled to discover that the other three skeins were noticeably lighter. There's really no way to disguise it. The best I could do is use the lighter color for the sleeves and call it a design choice -- but I'm really not happy. I will not order this yarn again. I agree with other reviewers that the yarn is very springy and not as soft as I expected -- but it's quite pleasant to work with.
Comments about Dream in Color Classy:
This is a terrific yarn for knitting gifts, especially children's clothing. The colors are truly wonderful and work well together. The yarn is soft (for a superwash) and bouncy and just a pleasure to work with.
Comments about Dream in Color Classy:
The color is beautiful--but the yarn feels very artificial and acrylic-y. That was disappointing.
Comments about Dream in Color Classy:
If I was forced to choose just one basic superwash wool yarn to knit with for the rest of my life, this would be it. It's soft - not cashmere or camel down soft obviously, but I'm finding it soft enough to wear next to the skin with no problem. I have itching issues with some wools, but not this. It's springy, smooshable and a pure joy to knit. Some worsted weight wools and especially superwash ones just feel like they are thinner than they should be, but this feels just right in your fingers. Colors are gorgeous, yardage is good and and if that isn't enough, it's washable. I even put my new sweater in the dryer.
Comments about Dream in Color Classy:
All my favorite sweaters are knit with this yarn. They get washed over and over but don't look like it. Knitting is a pleasure with the beautiful color combos!
Comments about Dream in Color Classy:
I so wanted to love this yarn, but I didn't really enjoy knitting with it, it felt strangely artificial, I think I just dislike whatever they do to make wool superwash as I disliked Lorna's Laces worsted as well.Gorgeous colours though.
Comments about Dream in Color Classy:
This yarn isn't really soft to the touch (almost feels like acrylic)- but it is not at all scratchy, and is very springy- I am an addict for ultra soft yarns like alpaca and cashmere- but strangely I think this yarn is going to become a new favorite- no color pooling, not scratchy on the skin, springy texture, fantastic colors, and machine washable!! seems like it will wear very well
