This is a beautiful book with gorgeous shawl patterns. I can't wait to try them.
Since this book is a collection of patterns and does not have complete projects, I also purchased 'Knitted Lace of Estonia with DVD' just to get me started with some ideas.

This is a collection of Haapsalu lace patterns. Symbols are a bit different than I am used to, but book contains a nice index of the symbols to refer to if needed. Charts are a nice size and easy to follow. The collection is extensive and so far accurate. The patterns are organized into lots of variations on several themes. The book has large pages, but isn't too heavy, with beautiful project photographs but no project instructions. The book explains the techniques thoroughly, so any competent knitter can design their own projects using the beautiful patterns presented in the photographs and charts.

The book and patterns are really beautiful also the clear instructions. The patterns didn't use the similar signs as others but it didn't problems.
