VERSACIKNITS A La Mode
A la mode is a classic V-neck pullover with couture detailing. The front is a little shorter than the back to create a gradual slope, and the back is a bit wider than the front, with a slight billow created by short rows. Multiple pattern stitches give a la mode lots of texture. Pebble stitch on the bodice gives a baubled look that contrasts with the triangular pattern on the sleeves, which is created by lozenge stitch. The front, back, and sleeves are knit separately and pieced, and the collar, shoulder saddle, and cuffs are done in twin rib. If you love textured knits and have some experience with pattern stitches, you’ll find a la mode to be a fun project that will keep your interest. While the stitches themselves aren’t hard, they do demand that you pay attention, so this is not a mindless knit.
