Wonderful yarn

First to the person who returned this without trying, it is a great yarn and softens while you knit with it.
In fact if you had just "kneaded" the skein with your hands you would have discovered this! The lanolin works through the yarn making it very soft.
I made the Coat :Nell" from Kim Hargreaves book Amber in the natural color and every where I go I get compliments.
The colors don't appear true on my monitor from this website!
I was lucky and able to buy it at my LYS but I can certainly recommend this yarn especially for jacket type projects.

This is a solid, natural wool that knits up beautifully. If you like the feel of wools that have not been over-treated, have that wonderful feel of lanolin in it, and are undyed, this is the wool for you. It has a firm hand, and this is a wool for garments that will last for a very long time. I bought the mid-brown Jacab and like the color; I'm knitting a coat with it. I want to try the Black Welsh next.
loved this wool

I 'm happy to see natural sheep breeds getting their due. Knit 1 sweater from Grey Suffolk - love it. Bought the Black Welsh and dark grey Jecob to do 2 more.
This is "real wool for real sweaters"! They'll last a life time. Just need to get the Shetland and Leicester now.
nice, but...

I bought the shetland moorit, and while it is a little rough, it's still nice to knit with. Very springy, perfect for the jacket I'm making. BUT, it smells like it came straight from the farm. Very sheep-y, hopefully it can be soaked out...
coarse, had to return it

I couldn't believe how coarse this yarn felt -- maybe I'm spoilt? -- so I returned it. I couldn't imagine knitting with it, let alone wearing it.
