I have used two colors of this yarn in two projects. The Ocean heather was used for a cardigan and it knitted up quickly and beautifully. I only had one join in six balls. It was wonderfully soft and not too heavy. I used the red for a shrug, and it was not as soft as the ocean, but that has to do with the different dyes. It still was great to work with, and a great price, too.

I bought this for a cabled cape in the color 'Fawn'. The color was beautiful and the yarn is showing off the details beautifully. The yarn feels so good on the needles and to the touch. This is my first Valley Yarns purchase and it will definitely not be my last if this is an indication of the quality of the other yarns. The name brand yarn that was called for in this particular project is literally twice the cost for the same yardage and the guage is very close to the same. Since it's a cape,I really didn't need to be overly concerned with the guage not being exact,since it was so very close. I will back for more without a doubt!

This is very smooth and good quality yarn. It feels great when knitting and also when wearing - no itching at all. Finished sweater does not heavy even if it's bulky yarn, and stitch definition is great. Only issue is that yarn will grow after washing both in length and width, make sure to wash your swatch. Regarding joins, I had total of one join in 6 skeins, so that was not an issue.

I just taught myself how to crochet over the winter and used Northampton Bulky for my first big project. Great colors, haven't come across any joins, and found it very easy to work with. Plus Webs customer service and shipping is awesome, since I had to order additional skeins online after I started the project.

The yarn itself was nice, easy to knit and soft for 100% wol, but the felt joins!!!! Way too many for a 100-yd skein of yarn. I purchased 6 skeins of dark green and every skein had at least one join, most having two joins, and one skein had four!! I will not use this yarn again because of the joins - it's a shame too, because otherwise the yarn is good quality, good price and nice to work with. I hope WEBS can remedy this problem.

I love the feel of this yarn and the price can't be beat. But (and there is always a but) I cannot recommend or purchase this yarn again. Everyone of my balls had a felt join that was annoying and hard to take out. For a yarn with only 109 yard there should be no joins not one in every ball. Sadly, in my book this make the quality of this yarn well below average. And with such a great feel and price this is really sad. And it will keep me from trying Valley Yarns in the future.

This yarn has a lot of great colors, it is soft and easy to knit. However, I did not find it felted very easily.

I purchased 8 skeins in the Dk. Heather Green colorway. Each skein has had at least 1 thick felted join. This isn't a big deal but 1 skein had FIVE that all needed to be cut out leaving so many ends to weave in. It is a nice bulky wgt and is otherwise smooth and knits up nicely.

I just finished a gansey style pillover for donstion to an orphanage in a very cold climate. I was delighted to see how well this yarn behaves and what a high quality garment it produces. The yarn was uniform, very smooth to work with, without twists or kinks or imperfections of any kind. The quality and value of Valley yarns is outstanding. I have used a few other 'house label' yarns from other companies, and I could not honestly make such positive statements about some of them.
