I've knit for 40 years, and this is one of the nicest yarns I've ever used. I can't understand the negative comments - it's a joy to work with, soft and even in the hands, with wonderful color saturation. Yes, it's spun, not plied, but I've had zero problems with it unravelling or pulling apart. Even bulky jackets/sweaters (I've knit this up to a #13 needle) have a pleasing drape. This is one classy yarn, and the price cannot be beat. If I could give it ten stars, I would!

This yarn was good for my particular project (a Jayne Cobb Cunning Hat from the series Firefly). I needed a rustic yarn in red, orange and yellow and this was the only one I found with all those available. The finished product looks good, but it does pull apart quite a bit and requires twisting while working, which got annoying rather quickly. Chafed my hands a bit too after a couple of hours, so if you're sensitive to that sort of thing you might think twice.

Because of the reasonable cost and good quality, I am able to try out more -- and more daring -- ideas. When the cost is hundreds to make a sweater, I am very conservative (if and when I spend that!). This way, I have much more freedom.

I've used this before and went back for more.
Lovely soft but a bit more bulky like I wanted.
Knits a bit faster and makes a larger product, which
is what I wanted. Though it sheds a bit it gives a bit
of a "yarn halo" which I like for my critters.

Have not used this yarn before. Just knitted a small swatch and I found that it split easily, however I loved the definition of each stitch. I will know more after I have finished the sweater. I believe it would make great looking felt purses, or hats.

I purchased this yarn to make a sweater for my daughter with Down syndrome. She saw a picture of the sweater in the Webs magazine last month and really wanted one just like it. The yarn is not that easy to work with. It's very inflexible and splits easily. The price was too high for the quality. I would not purchase this yarn again.

I was looking for a replacement yarn for Nashua Creative Focus Chunky (since it's no longer available) to make thick mittens and hats in nalbinding. I love working with this soft, easy to use, single ply yarn. It's a great price too!

I'm knitting a cable cardigan with this yarn. It is soft and very attractive. I will be trying other Valley Yarns and definitely buying more of this weight. It has just the right blend of Alpaca to give the soft, dreamy look to your project. I've seen other reviews that said it shed, I guess it does shed a little, but it's not enough of an issue to stop me from future use. All stitches I've used look fantastic--stockinette, cables, brioche. I LOVE THIS YARN.
