Valley Yarns Charlemont Kettle Dye

Valley Yarns Charlemont is a stunning blend of superwash merino, mulberry silk, and polyamide. It is incredibly soft with a lustrous sheen that brings out the kettle dyed jewel-like colors. With 439 yards per hank, it is an incredible value. Charlemont would be beautiful as socks, a shawl, a garment, or more. Try knitting, crocheting, or even weaving with it! Made in Peru.

Love this yarn

I used 2 skeins to knit a small shawl for a charity auction. It produced a stunning product that was much fought over. Easy to knit with. Hard to let go.

I purchased several skeins for a lacy crochet sweater in August 2011. Not long after starting the project, it took low priority and 2 years later it remains a UFO. I washed a swatch I'd made a while ago, only to find out the dye bled. I washed in cold water with Eucalan and rinsed with cold water only to find there was a lot of dye in the wash, and even some in the rinse. Very disappointed - and will probably frog the project and wash/rinse the yarn until the dye stops bleeding. Not what I expected from a WEBS yarn! I haven't seen any similar complaints, so hopefully dye issues were limited to this color and or dyelot.

Comments about Valley Yarns Charlemont Kettle Dye:

This was a gift to a mother whose son was grieviously assaulted and is now wheel chair bound. I had our priest dedicate the shawl and she was very touched by the feel of the wool, the colors and how well the colors complimented her.

Comments about Valley Yarns Charlemont Kettle Dye:

I fell in live with this yarn as soon as I opened the box! I purchased this in a green color way. Though I am still knitting with the first skein, I already can see that the dying is even and the colors flow beautifully into one another. The texture only improves with knitting! So far I have knitted part of a sweater in stockinette and I just want to snuggle with it! Thanks for a lovely product.

Comments about Valley Yarns Charlemont Kettle Dye:

I bought this yarn to make a sweater for a Christmas gift but found that this yarn was too small for the project I wanted to do. I'm not used to working with such small yarn and especially on a large project. I love the softness of the yarn and think it would be wonderful to work with on another project. It would make a beautiful scarf or socks.
