I used four colors of it for the multicolored stripes in a sweater for myself, plus another six or so colors in a hat. It was delightful to knit -- soft, non-splitty, non-twisty -- and it washed and dried beautifully in the machine. I washed a large swatch first before I started the sweater and was amazed that it came out of the dryer (I set it at medium but my dryer is HOT) looking exactly like it went into the washer. The same was true of the sweater when I ran it through the washer (warm wash, cool rinse, normal cycle) and dryer at the end of winter. I cannot say enough good things about this yarn.

This is the most disappointing yarn I've used in 50 years of knitting. The color was just what I wanted; knitting with the yarn was very pleasant. I completed a very complicated sweater and was excited to clean and wear it. At the very first -- very careful -- washing, the yarn pilled horribly; I have sweaters that are ten years old that aren't such a mess. I've worn the sweater one time, and it proceeded to shed all over my slacks and turtleneck. I was a mess within an hour. I won't ever wear the sweater again; I'm not sure it's is worth giving to Goodwill. Don't waste your time or money on this yarn. (I have given it one star because the system won't let me submit the review without a star...hmmmph.)

When I first reviewed Valley Superwash DK on 4/23/13 I gave it 5 stars. While I am still happy with the overall performance, after using about 4 skeins I have found one or two spots in each skein where two lengths have been knotted together. I was surprised at the first knot, but by now I am disappointed and need to reduce my rating from 5 to 4. I would still recommend it because of the price, but with reservations.

As a creator of things for littles for my Etsy shop (Sweet Alora's Frocks and Things) I am always on the look out for wonderful yarn at good prices. This absolutely fit the bill! I highly recommend this yarn for things for littles, as it is soft, easy to use, and doesn't shed or unravel.

I loved the soft feel of the yarn, but then a knot appeared . I averaged at least one knot per skein. I am making a sweater as a gift for my step-daughter and was disappointed with the knots. The price is good, but the knots are unacceptable. Luckily, I was able to get them into the inside of the garment.

I'm currently using Valley Superwash DK combined with Debbie Bliss Angel on a men's sweater. It knits up beautifully, nice hand & drape, soft with very nice loft for DK. Can't beat it for the price!

Delivery was quicker than expected and though one yarn was not available when the first part of my order was ready to ship WEBS notified me and did not charge for shipping on the delayed portion. Both packages arrived in perfect condition. I'm very pleased with service, product, & prrice.
