Comments about Valley Yarns Franklin Hand Dyed by the Kangaroo Dyer:

Bought three skeins of this yarn to knit burning branch shawls because I loved the rich colors and it was recommended by the pattern designer. First skein had one joining knot and not enough yarn to finish the entire pattern. The second skein, a gorgeous marigold, had at least nine joining knots that I needed to cut out and splice as to not have all of these "knubs" in the beautiful pattern. Again there was not sufficient yardage to complete the entire pattern, despite the fact that I was knitting to recommended gauge. Thankfully the pattern is designed to knit until you run out of yarn. I have one skein left , a beautiful green. I hope that I don't have to deal with so many knotted joins. For the cost I was disappointed that I needed to splice a variegated yarn so many times.

Comments about Valley Yarns Franklin Hand Dyed by the Kangaroo Dyer:

I bought the "camo" yarn thinking it would be gray/brown colored but it turned out to be a teal/gray color. At first I wanted to return it because it's not what's pictured or what I expected but I ended up liking it better. So while I'm a little bothered that the pictures aren't exactly accurate and it makes me hesitant to buy this yarn again, I do like it. The texture is nice and colors are soft.

the yarn was beautifully dyed in a great color combination and was easy to knit. I knit a pair of socks for my mother and she was so thrilled by how soft and pretty the socks were. I would definitely purchase this yarn again

Comments about Valley Yarns Franklin Hand Dyed by the Kangaroo Dyer:

I purchased the mossy rock colorway, which I fell in love with on the website. But, I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived in the mail and I loved the colors even more in person. The color was deep and lucious. The yarn felt nice while knitting. Nice and stretchy.

There was a small amount of 'growth' in my project after washing & blocking, so I definitely recommend washing & blocking a gauge swatch for anything where size matters. My project was a shawl so gauge didn't matter much.

My only complaint was the shedding while knitting. And by shedding, I mean that it seemed like there were pieces of dog hair stuck in the yarn. I seriously wondered if the dyer had a westie becaus it was like short white hairs. Maybe it was part of the yarn? But somehow I doubt it because the color was so dark and the hairs were all white.

The socks made up well and look terrific. The yarn was not colorfast and I had lines on my fingers to prove it. Where I wrapped the yarn to tension it left marks. I don't believe, however, that there will be an issue with washing the items made as long as you wash with like colors.

Comments about Valley Yarns Franklin Hand Dyed by the Kangaroo Dyer:

This yarn is fun to knit with-and has a lot of yardage. I was able to get a pair of stockings out of one skein. The colors are just lovely, knitting up with some fun color pooling. It makes a pair of socks that are comfortable and durable-short of soaking them in lighter fluid to use to light a BBQ, you can't kill a pair of socks made from this yarn. They do well in the wash and get softer each time (getting a rather soft halo to them)This yarn is on the pricey side but a great addition to any stash.

A really enjoyable sock yarn which knitted up well, and washes well. The colorways are gorgeous. I've used this yarn for scarves, shawlettes and baby items with great success.
