Very soft alpaca and a little cashmere makes this so nice you just want to pet it and snuggle into it. The nature of these fibers together will not create a bouncy, lofty yarn, and over time you can expect your project to grow a little, but it's heavenly for the right project. So far ive used it for hats, cowls, scarves, and I recently bought enough to make myself a large shawl so I can wrap up in it and watch tv.

I checked the reviews for this yarn and based on the fact that it is NOT a heavy worsted, I ordered it for some baby shower gifts. It's perfect, but not a heavy worsted. On US 9's it is a soft and drapey fabric. I'm sorry it's misrepresented though.

This yarn is absolutely gorgeous. I'm presently knitting it into a large tunic-style cowled pullover, and I can't be happier with how it works up. As others have noted, it is not really a heavy worsted. It knits up into a gauzy fabric on size 7 (4.50 mm) needles, and I'm sure that it could also be knitted on size 6 (4.00 mm) needles for a more firm fabric. Nevertheless, it is incredibly lovely and is a joy to knit with. And such yummy saturated solors!

The yarn is soft but the gauge is misrepresented on the yarn.com website. It is NOT heavy worsted. The gauge on the yarn label says 4 sts per inch on size 8 needles, not 9...it knits up smaller than that, more of a light worsted.

This yarn was such a pleasure to use! It is very soft and not at all scratchy from the alpaca, and the finished sweater I knit with it was very cozy and warm. It does knit up quite loosely at the gauge listed, so I took it down to 5 sts per inch which ended up being perfect. I would definitely use this yarn again.
