Malabrigo is a gorgeous, pure merino wool. Made by a small, family owned yarn company located in Uruguay, the foremost wool producer country of South America and one of the world's most important. They work closely with a cooperative of women in rural Uruguay to produce wonderful yarns. Malabrigo is unbelievable - the colors are spectactular, the feel is incredibly soft. Think Manos, only better with more yardage. You won't believe how amazing Malabrigo is until you feel it!

This was the first yarn I used, and it's still my favorite. The colours are incredible. It is easy to work with and results in a super-soft product. I love it.

Very soft yarn, excellent product at a very reasonable price. The only problem I've had is with dye lots. They do very small dye lots so if you're doing a bigger project (like a hat/mitten/scarf set) you might have some color variation.
Makes you look like a pro!

I think this yarn is geat. Besides being soft and yummy, it seems to ensure that every stitch will be perfect. I just finished a baby sweater with a cable on each front (October 10, 2008, calendar) and it is incredibly cute. A quick knit!
Makes other yarns seem like twine!

The color, the softness, what can I say that other people can't? This yarn is outstanding, if you haven't tried it you should.

Try it with the free "scrunchable pattern" on Ravelry. Makes a great Christmas present for a school teacher.

Malabrigo has a great reputation for being the softest wool around, and it is well-deserved. It does pill since it isn't plied, but I can easily forgive that because this stuff is sooooo yummy. I have used it for baby pants and a sweater, and also for a shawl for myself, and I adore every one of them. The colorways are incredibly vibrant, and true to what you see on the monitor. I frequently dream of buying 100 skeins and sleeping on them - you won't believe it's wool!

Malabrigo continues to excel in producing some of the most interesting and gorgeous variegated yarns. The worsted wool is incredibly soft and warm and a joy to knit with. Be it hats, mittens, scarves, or sweaters, you can't go wrong with Malabrigo.
