I knit a sweater out of this yarn earlier this year. Oh. my. goodness. SO SOFT! And a gorgeous sheen. My swatch washed just fine and so did my sweater. I get compliments on it pretty much whenever I wear it.
One thing that was NOT nice: Winding the skeins. All 6 were tangled and 4 or 5 of them had knotted breaks. It took forever to wind and russian join them.
You know what, though? I totally plan on buying it again. It was worth the hassle of the winding in order to enjoy the loveliness of the knitting and the amazing softness of the FO. I love love love this yarn. One of my favorites to date.

Malabrigo has an excellent reputation and this yarn is definetly one of the best! Love the colors, the feel and of course, the flexibility for use. Well worth the price for all you receive in return, including the expressions on the faces of family and friends when they receive gifts made from it!!

This is a lovely wool that feels so good to work with I love using it. The color variations are beautiful. It's soothing to the senses. The wool holds together nicely and doesn't split or shred the way some others do so it's super easy to pick up dropped stitches or fix mistakes. And machine washable. I got some of the color "playa" and I'm transported to the beach when I use it. It's my new favorite!

Rios is a hand-dyed yarn with short repeats, so it knits up variegated rather than striped. The balance of color varies a lot from one skein to the next. Order more than you need, so that you can pick and choose which skeins to use. It is a pleasure to work with, soft enough to wear next to the skin, and looks great in garter stitch.

Having heard about Malabrigo yarns for some time, I was excited to touch it myself. Touch isn't always enough with yarn, and working with the yarn is the true test to me. This yarn has a beautiful bounce to it, is great for cabling (without a cable needle, even) and is just so soft and nice to work with. I'm certain I will have the mittens I knit with Rios for many years to come. Consider me the newest Malabrigo enthusiast!

I have only used this to make hats, but I plan to make myself a sweater as soon as my gifts are done, it's just a pleasure to knit with. The colors are beautiful, but not always that close to the picture colors.

I bought this yarn to knit winter accessories for my grandson. I made him a fair isle hat, a set of flip top mittens and a keyhole scarf with this yarn. The stitch definition on all of these items is fantastic. Furthermore, the yarn just feels good sliding through your hands while you knit. And, since the items were for a child, it was important that they be machine washable. Love the color choices too!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This yarn is soft enough for my sensitive skin. The colors are wonderful and I love knitting up hats and fingerless gloves using this yarn. Another plus is that this yarn is machine washable, so I could use this yarn to knit items for my 5 yr. old nephew. The only negative I can think of is that the colorways aren't consistent so if you are concerned about matching hanks for a sweater then it might be difficult. If you don't care, then no worries.

Every time I knit with a Malabrigo yarn i'm transported, I find myself smiling - the FEEL of it! The colors - oh, my. Yes, go ahead. Call me a Fan. And every time I work with it, I WANT MORE! Yesterday I realized I'd worn the small scarf I'd knit myself last year all day - that soft and warm and comfortable.
At the moment I am using Malabrigo for small projects - hats, socks, scarves. Can't comment on its use in larger projects.

This yarn is beautifully colored. Wide variance of intensity within the same dye lot required me to knit from multiple skeins simultaneously to avoid noticeable color disparity in the finished product. This little bit of extra effort was well worth it, but I wanted to warn others before they knit too far into their projects.
