The stitches on the needle can be harder to knit off because of the grooves but it never had to problem I had with other cable needles of my stitches sliding off. Once I got very comfortable working with the needle the stitch sticking issue was minimal.

I bought these to learn to cable knit. I didn't care for the cable needles my local craft store offered. These work great, I like the grooves to help me hold onto the yarn. I prefer wood or bamboo when I knit so these were right up my alley.

I really like using these cable needles. They are grooved slightly, which enables them to hold the stitches without the worry of them slipping off. For me, with extremely fine yarn like lace, these hold the yarn a little bit too well - but for all others they are perfect. And an added bonus is that they are soooo pretty!

These make it so easy to knit off the cable needle because the grooves hold the yarn in place. The others I have used are plastic and metal and tended to slip. I found that the U-shaped cables needles seemed to get in my way and these do not. I'm a beginner and even I can cable like crazy with these!
