Overall, this is a great yarn. I love the variety of colors and lovely sheen of this yarn. I have used it for many scarves and shawls. It has a very nice twist to it and is fairly "forgiving".

After washing it it does tend to have a slight crispy feel to it but I carefully steam my items after washing and it becomes very soft, silky, and has sort of a gauze feel to it.

The only complaints that I have with this yarn is that after buying multiple cones, some of the yarn has a completely different texture. It feels very woolly and had knots throughout the cone. Very disappointed about that!

I would also recommend that for some of the brighter colors such as "scarlet and peacock" that you wind them into a hank and wash them before knitting. The amount of dye that comes out of the yarn is insane! My hands are actually tinted red and my bamboo knitting needles are stained from the yarn.

My other suggestion is to use lotion frequently if you knit alot.I have snagged a lace scarf because of dry hands! This yarn does not like dry hands at all. It ends up feeling like velcro. Yikes!

    Don't believe everything you read!

I was very disappointed with this product as it isn't the same as the Jaggerspun Zephyr in the balls. I think they should say that in the yarn description.

        Comments about Jaggerspun Zephyr:

I wanted to have a travelling knitting project--a shawl that, when finished, would be very packable, yet warm enough to ward off the chill of a long flight to the South Pacific. I chose a free PI SHAWL pattern. I've used Zephyr for shawl projects before, so I knew it would be perfect. The trip is now over, but the shawl is only 2/3 complete...oh well. It will be perfect for cool summer nights and next year's trip!

          Comments about Jaggerspun Zephyr:

I love weaving with Jaggerspun Zephyr. I've woven several scarves with no problems - used as both warp and weft. I do use a 6# fishing line with the supplementary selvage thread. The resulting scarves are soft, warp, "cuddly." Fulling (if carefully washed) does not obliterate the draft pattern. I highly recommend Zephyr - and continue to buy more to use and add to my stash!

            Comments about Jaggerspun Zephyr:

I like to use zephyr in shadow weave - the colors are stunning and the drape is so wonderful. It's also nice in plain weave stripes with cotton. It fulls just enough (with CAREFUL agitation) to cause a very nice differential shrinkage.

                Comments about Jaggerspun Zephyr:

Due to timing constraints, I failed to get samples of the two colors I chose to weave a baby blanket, but hopefully the finished product will not merit my misgivings about how oddly bland they look together now.

                  Comments about Jaggerspun Zephyr:

This is the first lace knitting that I have done. The yarn is weighty enough to easily control, but light enough for a summer sweater. The silk component gives the yarn a nice subtle sheen, without being flashy. I have knitted 2 sweaters with this yarn. One in Aegean and one in Emerald (see photos).

I am knitting Citron Grande from Knitty/Ravelry and this yarn makes the knitting a pleasure. I was a little taken aback when it arrived on a cone, and on the cone it feels "hard" but once knitted it feels like a cloud.
