A great mill end lot from England, this two-ply tweed is comparable to those that retail for $8.00-$10.00 per skein. A pound is equivalent to roughly 4 1/2 100 gm skeins or 9 50 gm skeins. Plan more than one pound, but less than two for a medium long sleeved sweater. The yarn is still in spinning oil. The water will be a milky white as the oil washes out; the fabric will be soft. Highland Tweed is also wonderful to weave with. Be sure to make a sample and finish it to determine the amount of loft and adjust your sett accordingly.
