fantastic traditional wool yarn

I love Reynolds LOPI yarn - it's big and knits up fast. Colors are wonderful, especially since they are now available in so many, not just the nuetral/naturals. My whole family wears LOPI sweaters from Halloween till about Easter - they are always beautiful and warm. One girls sweater made by my mother with this yarn in the '60's is now on its 7th owner - me, my sisters, my neices - and still looks wonderful. This yarn is a rugged "traditional" wool yarn - it's a bit scratchy, so always wear something underneath. Pay attention to the care instructions or you will end up with a felted Barbie item. This is one of my all time favorite yarns. Beats any other LOPI yarn.
Great bulky yarn

I bought color 52 (black sheep) and it's great. So far, in only a few evenings' time, I have knitted the back of a sweater for my husband in less than 2 balls, and he's a size 44. It knits up easily and looks great in Stockinette stitch, and a little warpy in rib (needs blocking!). It sheds a lot as I work and is a little rough on the hands, but it is pliable and easy to work with. I think once it's been cleaned a couple of times, the shedding will stop. It appears to be very durable, hard to snag or separate the strand on the needle, and I expect it will stand up to my husband's work in auto-body repair estimates. Yarn varies a little in thickness as you go, so a bumpy stitch gets bumpier and a smooth stitch looks nice but a little textured.
