Comments about Araucania Nature Wool:
The colors of this yarn are indescribably beautiful. The color range is wonderful and the hand dyed technique really makes a simple wool yarn seem like a luxury.

Comments about Araucania Nature Wool:
It's not that it's *not* soft -- to my hand it feels very soft. But up against my neck it's got some scratchiness. I suspect I'm very sensitive to scratchiness so for most people, this should be a fine yarn. I like the color (matched the photo online!) and the variegation is lovely.
Comments about Araucania Nature Wool:
I have knit several garments with Araucania and learned the hard way with the first sweater because it is hand dyed the colors vary widely. I wind all skeins and then mis-match them and knit with two balls at once. Your eye will never see the difference and you end up with a beautiful garment. My daughter in law loves hers. It is fun to mix them up and see what you get.
Comments about Araucania Nature Wool:
I think this is a great basic yarn although I would never knit this yarn with size 5 needles--they give that in the range and for me, that is way too tight. I bought two colors--cherry and eggplant. As one reviewer noted, the cherry was not as bright as in the picture which was a bonus for me. The eggplant however matched the picture. There was also some unevenness in the colors but I believe that adds to the beauty.
Comments about Araucania Nature Wool:
I was disappointed when this yarn arrived. The color was much deeper than expected and the dye was uneven. Also, the way it was spun was not consistent.
Comments about Araucania Nature Wool:
I knit with this yarn when I first began knitting, and I still love it. It would be considered a "basic workhorse" yarn, as it is great for felting or general knitting. For me, knitting with it is as comforting as a cup of hot chocolate. I love this yarn.
Comments about Araucania Nature Wool:
This yarn is a very soft basic wool to use for projects. At the Webs price, I'm using it to make the Classica Coat at a 1/6 of the price. It is very sticky/tangly when winding or sometimes when knitting. Not splitty at all. No knots on the 8 skeins I had. Seems like a light worsted, but seems to knit up at gauge. Resulting fabric is light and airy, not thick. Overall, at this price, a really really great basic to surpass Cascade 220, better price than it, and better hand than it. Curious as to how it dyes up (from the treebark color).
