Cons
Best Uses

Comments about Berroco Comfort Sock:
wasn't sure about using this yarn for socks after some of the earlier comments.
I need not have worried.
These are soft and stretchy and quick to knit up.
The price is right, too.
It's a great product for use in sunny Florida. I may order more to make a t-top or vest.

Comments about Berroco Comfort Sock:
I used this yarn to crochet a market bag as a gift for a swap. I crocheted with it doubled using 2 colors, and it looks great and feels soft. It is a mesh bag with has some stretch but not too much. I think it should hold up nicely to being stretched with groceries.

Comments about Berroco Comfort Sock:
On the one hand, I love the colors (Stewart Island and Southland) of the socks I knitted from this yarn. And yes, they are soft. However the socks bag worse than any other pair I've made and, despite the fact that they are only handwashed, the yarn has gotten fuzzy and pilly very quickly. In other words, the yarn does not wear well. Kind of a disappointment and a reason not to use the yarn again.
Comments about Berroco Comfort Sock:
I am crocheting an open lacy scarf with Stewart Island, and this yarn is wonderful! The colors really sing, it glides easily through the fingers, and blocks beautifully - which surprised me, as it is a synthetic yarn. I am allergic to wool, so this is the perfect answer!
Comments about Berroco Comfort Sock:
While a very pretty yarn and very soft to the touch, Comfort Sock has no elasticity whatsoever. I'm sure it would make a pretty scarf or maybe baby sweater, but I wouldn't recommend it for socks unless you want them to be very baggy. Kind of disappointing for a yarn that has "sock" right in its name.
Comments about Berroco Comfort Sock:
I made one pair of socks and am working on a second. Looking for something very durable, hope they hold up and stay as nice as they are now...
Comments about Berroco Comfort Sock:
I'm using this yarn for Christmas presents this year, because some family members are allergic to wool. It feels great, and knits up fast. I just wish there were more colors available.
