Having difficulty finding some sport weight, machine washable yarn for sock making on my circular sock knitting machine, I gave this yarn a try. Wow, really nice, soft socks that knitted up with no problems whatsoever. I do not know how well they will wear or if they might pill, but after a couple washes, they seem just fine.

At the same time, I evaluated some Kroy Pattons yarn that was 75% wool, 25% nylon. The Kroy was a lighter, sport weight and the socks were not as soft, though they probably will wear better. I much prefer the Cascade 220 yarn.

I am knitting a cabled sweater and find the yarn very splitty - it is impossible to cable without a needle. When you slip a stitch off the needle it promptly tries to unravel and splits when you try to pick it up. I also have a lot of trouble with splitting the yarn with normal knitting/purling. The color isn't even close to what is shown on the web page - I ordered the 900 Charcoal which is shown as more of a medium gray. The yarn I received is labeled as 900 but the color is closer to the 815 Black. Luckily my son in law likes the color so I didn't have to return it. The yarn is very soft and has nice stitch definition, the fabric looks and feels lovely!

Comments about Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash Sport:

Used it to make a baby blanket. Great cable definition and nice drape for me, blocks up nicely. I found it a bit tough to repair because it seems a bit loosely plied and therefore splitty, but the payoff is a nice soft drape. I'm not sure yet how it will wear.

I originally used this wool for socks. I loved its softness and uniform tension. And now, I chose it for the drachenfels shawl, and honestly, it's given a beautiful piece of work. A gidf for my daughter-in-law who will appreciate the fact that its machine washable.

Comments about Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash Sport:

I wanted a non-traditional color other than baby pink for a baby girl cardigan so I ordered the Peach color. I expected a pink with slightly orange hue, almost like a coral, and what I received looks more like a very light baby pink.
It's a great yarn, I just don't recommend this color--it looks very polyester, cheap, and the color is very "old-fashioned layette".

Comments about Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash Sport:

I bought this because I was seeking a washable wool in true red for a size 10 sweater for my half-Norwegian granddaughter.
I often have to unravel and re-knit. this yarn is very forgiving of such abuse. A few years ago I had knit up some Dale falk in blue working in the yoke pattern with Purl sts. This year she wants red. I have had good experiences with Cascade and Cascade Superwash yarns. When I found "really red" on sale, even. I bought it.

Comments about Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash Sport:

I love the shawl that I made with this product, but making it was very challenging. I had to continually back out of a knit or purl stitch to pick up all of the yarn, because when it was knit, I had only picked up part of the thread. It split and caused me to spend lots of extra time in redoing stitches.

Comments about Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash Sport:

Great yarn in such pretty colors. I'm making a colorful baby blanket and it is just perfect! Cascade is always a brand I trust for quality.

The only drawback? The yarn splits just a bit while knitting- I just have to be careful and watch my stitches. This is not unusual, even with high quality yarns, so not a big deal.

                Service and delivery comments:

Fantastic customer service. I had to exchange a color and even though I did not have the order number, they processed my exchange smoothly and quickly. Very friendly service representative.
