I ordered three skeins to make a shawl for my mother and the yarn is GORGEOUS! It's soft and supple between my fingers, knits well, and the color is such a rich, deep burgundy red. Definitely a recommended fingering-weight yarn!

The color selection of this yarn is fantastic. I bought it for a huge color work project and was disappointed. It is a very fine fingering weight and if you are using with other sock yarns like this project it is difficult to keep the gauge consistent.

I use this yarn to knit Fair Isle items, also the weight is perfect for non-bulky scarves are needed. Sometimes I feel the need to knit a sweater or cardigan in a fine gauge.

    Lovely yarn

Comments about Cascade Yarns 220 Fingering:

Very nice, loose twist fingering yarn. I am a machine knitter and this yarn worked beautifully in the machine and made up into a wonderful hat/scarf combination in a Fair-isle pattern. Just a little 'fuzzing' to it which was counteracted by placing a wax ball on the tension unit.

    • Drapes beautifully
    • Fun to work
    • Lovely colors
    • soft

    Cons

      Best Uses

      • Lightweight Shawl

Comments about Cascade Yarns 220 Fingering:

I was worried at first that this yarn felt a bit coarser than I expected, but it was not an issue at all.

Once worked, it was super soft.. really a beautiful texture and draped very nicely. I made a striped triangular shawl with a few of the colors offered and could not be happier with it.

      Wildly uneven weight and twist

      By naughtypaw

Comments about Cascade Yarns 220 Fingering:

using this for a stranded project, the texture of the yarn keeps changing rapidly. one skein will swing from loosely twisted and fuzzy to very tightly twisted and markedly thinner.

obviously this affect the final product..... i would say OK for a kind of rustic, folky look, but not good for lace, not good for a simple texture play like cables or stitch variations.....

i bought a lot for a big stranded project and i will finish using it, but it wont be my first choice again.

Comments about Cascade Yarns 220 Fingering:

This is a great yarn for Fair Isle projects. There is a wide range of color choices and the skeins are economical with lots of yardage.

        Beautiful yarn

        By CitySewn

Comments about Cascade Yarns 220 Fingering:

Very easy to work with. I'm incorporating it in a baby blanket side by side with some sport weight yarn. I decided to use the same size crochet hook for both yarns (a size more suited to the sport weight) and this ends up with a lovely lacy pattern using the larger hook. The yarn doesn't split or fray and feels wonderful on my hands as I work. Highly recommended.

Comments about Cascade Yarns 220 Fingering:

I love Cascade yarn. This is the first time I have purchased the fingering weight. I am pleased again! The plies do split a little but that happens with all loosely plied wools. I like the way the loosely plied yarn works with my pattern.
