I bought a few colors of this yarn, 2 skeins of each. It's perfect for making scarves to get ready for next winter. I followed some patterns that called for worsted weight cashmere, but I didn't want to give away $100 scarves! This yarn was a very good substitute. While it isn't as soft as cashmere, it is a very good substitute. Soft, lofty, and much less expensive!

The colors are great, too. Sometimes yarn colors look "muddy," but these are clear and true.

This yarn is easy to knit with, has good stitch definition, but care is needed to make sure all the ply are knitted - it splits a little. . I knitted the Hourglass Cowl with this yarn, and the finished product is lovely.

I wished it was softer. Based on the description, I expected it to MUCH softer than the Cascade 220, unfortunately, it's not:(.

      Good yardage

Comments about Cascade Yarns Lana D'Oro (Alpaca) Discontinued Colors:

I bought this yarn as an alternative to cascade 220 as it has the same yardage per skein. It works nicely in the blanket I'm making, feels just a little bit thinner than the cascade 220.

        Service and delivery comments:

Service was a bit mixed up as your move to new facility interfered with true inventory. Your customer service handled situation. Just sorry not to get two of the colors that were listed but you didn't have. You have great sales and people to answer the phones!

        Thank you!

Comments about Cascade Yarns Lana D'Oro (Alpaca) Discontinued Colors:

I use this yarn knitting for my little daughter, though 50% alpaca it is not so soft as expected. It is good for sweaters that would not touch the bare skin, knitting does not really keeps its shape, so it is perfect for lace and jaquard knitting, but not for cables. Probably good for scarves too.

            Service and delivery comments:

I purchase only from Webs because they have perfect service here, great selection and prices, very fast delivery.

Comments about Cascade Yarns Lana D'Oro (Alpaca) Discontinued Colors:

I bought this yarn in four colors, to make four hooded baby ponchos. The yarn is not tightly twisted, but is nonetheless great for cables and a multitude of stitches. Colors are soft and so is the yarn. Great stuff!
