Classic Elite Yarns Kumara Diamond Cap (Free)
This Kumara Diamond Cap uses simple repeats of knit/purl combinations that are easy to “read” after the pattern is established in the first few rows. The crown decreases are eventually worked into the pattern, creating a star at the top of the cap that looks a lot more intricate than it really is.

Finished Meas: 19” circumference at brim, unstretched after blocking
YARN: Kumara by Classic Elite (85% extrafine merino, 15% baby camel; 50 gram ball = approx 128 yards), 1 ball 5758 Mars Red
NEEDLES:
Circular knitting needle (16”) in sizes US 7 (4.5 mm) and 9 (5.5 mm) and a set of double pointed needles (dpns) in size US 9 (5.5 mm)
GAUGE: 16 sts and 24 rows = 4” in Diamond Pattern with larger needle.

made this hat. it is beautiful. however, it didn't fit my adult daughter. looks like it would fit a 12 year old. found the 3/4 inch ribbing not enough, and the hat on looked more like a cap than a beret. i would get a second skein and make it wider and also add 1 or 2 more repetitions of pattern to make it look more like a beret. will try this pattern again.
