Cyndi’s mother taught her to knit when she was eight years old in an effort to slow her down and productively channel her energy. With the knitting basics under her belt, she happily knit mittens and slippers until high school when she knit her first sweater for her younger brother. Cyndi’s knitting interest continued through college and beyond as she fearlessly knit Aran sweaters and later sweaters for her two boys. With the resurgence of quilting in 1976, Cyndi set her knitting needles aside to focus on new interests. Several years later, after experiencing a WEBS tent sale and watching women purchase bags and bags of yarn with no apparent pattern in mind, Cyndi decided there must be more to learn about knitting and she enrolled in the WEBS Expert Knitters Program. Since completing the program, Cyndi has several projects on her needles, many more on a “need to knit” list, and an ever growing collection of yarn. When she is not working to improve the speech and language skills of elementary school children, Cyndi is sharing her knowledge of knitting with family and friends and enabling their fiber purchases.
