I've been using this yarn for a sampler afghan. I am overall impressed with the yarn. It is not as soft as the merino superwash yarns but it has a great hand and a lovely patina. I've been soaking it and then blocking it fairly aggressively with pins and it handles very well. I expect it will wear very well also. After blocking it softens a bit and relaxes to develop a nice drape. Most importantly for this kind of knitting it has a lovely extended color palette and the yarn is extremely consistent in weight across all colors. There have been very occasional bits of fluff but no knots or splices in any of the balls.

I bought this yarn to be the connecting border on a hexagon stained glass style crocheted blanket. I really do enjoy the variety of colors from which to choose and the saturation of the colors. What I don't care for is the ease with which this yarn splits while crocheting. I also was hoping for something a little softer. The other yarn in the blanket-to-be is also a superwash, but it's softer, less likely to fray, and just more enjoyable overall. Maybe the texture will improve after washing, but I can't say I'm charmed.

Comments about Ella Rae Classic Superwash:

I made a simple baby sweater from this yarn that will keep him snug and happy for 6 months or more. The stitch definition and perfect. and the Olive color is great.

I regularly found extra pieces of fiber twisted into this yarn. A yellow, coarse, grass like fiber broken off into 1/4" pieces that I got frustrated about having to pick out.

This is my second sweater to make with Ella Rae - the first was mine and this one is for my granddaughter. LOVE working with this soft, but durable yarn, and it wears so well. I'm sure I'll use it again for other projects.

Knitted a pumpkin hat and mittens for baby granddaughter and it was very soft and pretty looking when finished. Worked up to correct size using label recommendations. Very satisfied and happy with this yarn.

                  Service and delivery comments:

When I am in need, (maybe want is a better word) of some yarn or a new knitting needle, quickly, I turn to Webs. So very reliable and very happy with selection, prices and service.

Comments about Ella Rae Classic Superwash:

This is the third or fourth time I have purchased this yarn. At first because the price was great and the project had a budget. But I came back because it's very nice to work with, it has a nice crisp hand and softens up with blocking but retains it's drape. The colors are clear and have a subtle glow that set this yarn apart from a couple of other "workhorse" labeled yarns. I have had two knots in 30 balls and perhaps 6 slubs, splices or obvious thick/thin bits. I said "splits" as a con but not in a bad way - just the behaviour of the superwash and the ply of the yarn.
