pricey, but worth it for a special knit.

By Mrs. Pullings

from Pennsylvania

Pros

  • Great stitch definition
  • Warm
  • Wide range of colors

Cons

  • Expensive

Best Uses

  • Scarves

I was asked to make my friend a scarf using this yarn that he picked out (and luckily paid for, too-- at list price, this sold for $14 a skein at our local yarn shop). I knitted the scarf in Harry Potter-esque stripes using "Orange" and "Grape" in mini herringbone stitch, and I felt that this yarn really showed off the details of the stitch.

It's soft, but a little itchy, and it's certainly not very cheap, but for a small accessory, scarf or special knit, I would give it a try.

Very poor quality yarn

By kristen

from Brooklyn, NY

Pros

    Cons

    • 3 Knots Per Ball
    • Contains Random Colors
    • Itchy
    • Sheds

    Best Uses

I am using this for a sweater. First, the texture is terrible. The yarn is full of guard hairs that are sticking out, scratchy and sharp, from the yarn. It is a good thing they are loosely attached to the yarn because they need to be removed. But they are shedding all over the place, Also, I bought dark purple, but I have random stretches that are polluted with bright-red fiber that I cannot remove. To add insult to injury, I have found 3 breaks/knots in a single skein. It's just awful.
