I'm mostly a knitter and use crochet for trim, and a crochet hook to fix mistakes and problems with my knitting, so I don't usually use a crochet hook for hours at a time, like I do knitting needles.

If you like the flat handles on the Clover soft touch hooks, these are the same, but they're made of a resilient rubber-like plastic that is just grabby enough to make sure it doesn't slip out of your hands, while feeling hard, but having just enough give to be really kind to your hands. They're a lot like the plastic in the "sweet spot" on the soft touch hooks, but all over.

The hook itself is a "Boye" type hook rather than a "Susan Bates" type. There are two different camps among crocheters, so this may be either a pro or a con for you.

Overall, the hook feels solid and well made, but the price makes it a steal. I already had some that cost almost twice as much and weren't any better than these.

I love mine!

I couldn't find a 3mm in the brand I normally use, so I thought I would give the KP hooks a try. I didn't like them at all and ended up having a 3mm hook shipped to me from Japan. The hook felt cheap and hollow. The tip split my yarn on almost every single stitch (no kidding!) and the yarn didn't slide well.

One pro is that the handle was really comfortable, especially when I switched from knife hold to pencil hold. Another pro is the price (although I hesitate to call it a pro -- buying a product you end up disliking, even if it is inexpensive, is still just a waste of money).

Comments about Knitter's Pride Waves Aluminum Crochet Hooks:

I usually use cheap Boye hooks with no padding and my hands start to cramp after a while from holding such a tiny thing. Love the padding on this one. The hook is nice and deep so you don't miss catching the yarn on every YO.

Comments about Knitter's Pride Waves Aluminum Crochet Hooks:

I enjoy using this crochet hook because it is comfortable in my hand. It is colorful and the different colors coordinated with the size make it easy easy to pick from the others when you are looking for a particular sized hook. Great product and Webb's is fast with delivery and the service is great.

I bought these for the larger size hooks which are not always easy to find. These hooks are made pretty well. The only thing I would have liked better is if they had an indentation for grip. Other than that. For the cost, I am satisfied.

Comments about Knitter's Pride Waves Aluminum Crochet Hooks:

I really like the look and feel of these crochet hook handles; however, I did have a slight issue with the wide crochet hook tip (size H and larger); seemed to slow me down a bit. Time and getting used to might help correct. Use pencil hold method mainly and this may also be affecting. Many love these hooks and you may not have this issue. Definite worth trying. These are the same hooks as the black handled gold and aluminum hooks. Color coding is a plus!

Comments about Knitter's Pride Waves Aluminum Crochet Hooks:

I needed a very large hook to use with super chunky yarn. The Waves aluminum hook was perfect, as are all the other Waves I own.
