Louisa Harding Ianthe

Louisa Harding Ianthe is a blend of 50% extrafine merino and 50% cotton. It knits up at 5.5 stitches to the inch and is a great blend for spring. The wool lightens up the weight of the cotton nicely, and the twist will show off stitch patterning beautifully. Made in Italy.

    Comments about Louisa Harding Ianthe:

I made two baby sweaters, and I like knitting with this yarn. I hand washed both sweaters and they came out fine. What's not so great about this yarn is that I believe it's been discontinued. Or maybe I just bought a discontinued color (spicy tomato color). Anyhow, I'd definitely buy it again.

This yarn is ideally suited for knitting sweaters. It is soft, rich in color and does not fray. Very nice! I would definitely consider using this yarn mfg. again.

I bought this to crochet a baby blanket, which is still in the making. It's soft enough for a baby, yet all natural. I think the combo of cotton and wool will be good for when the baby's due in March--not too hot, not too cold.

            Comments about Louisa Harding Ianthe:

The yarn is beautiful to work with. Patterns show up very well. I knitted Irish cables pattern sweater and it shows beautifully. Service was great. Fast deilvery (got the yarn 2 to 3 days after I ordered on-line).
The reason I did not give 5 stars is that it is not machine-washable and I wish there's more yardage per skien.

I like this yarn. I did a cabled sweater and the pattern really popped. The yarn does stretch a bit which is why I gave it four stars instead of five. It is a nice weight. Very few knots.

I am using this for a to knit CEY Canyon Baby Cardigan. This yarn gives the lacy border pretty definition, my stitches look uniform and neat. Yarn is evenly dyed, found one knot in 3 balls. I am banking on another reviwer's experience that this can be washed and dried..as I did not test my swatch...

Am making a stitch textured vest for my husband to bridge spring and fall. It is a fine nice weight for that. I found if I started the ball from the center the twist does not split. I am doing a basket weave patter and it has a beautiful hand. I would love to make more things with this yarn.
