Valley Yarns 40th Anniversary Northfield - Hand-Dyed by Malabrigo

We're so excited to offer this very special, limited edition yarn for our 40th Anniversary celebration: our very own Valley Yarns Northfield - Hand-Dyed by Malabrigo! It's the same super-soft Valley Yarns Northfield you know & love, only with twice the yardage - and hand dyed by Malabrigo in their signature exquisite colors.

40th Anniversary Northfield is a delightfully squishy blend of merino wool, baby alpaca and silk in a DK weight. Malabrigo has even dyed a special color just for the occasion: 40th Anniversary Ruby. Simply gorgeous! Note: This yarn is hand-dyed, and color may vary from skein to skein. Made and dyed in Peru

I just finished knitting the Jazerant Hat by Emma Welford. Great pattern and lovely yarn. I'll post the photo on Ravelry as soon as I finish the cowl. Hat knit in Aquas. The cowl will be knit in Indiecita. I just wish I would have ordered the yarn sooner.

This is a beautiful yarn. I am knitting a top-down pullover sweater for my daughter-in-law, and the yarn is a delight to work with. I have unraveled multiple rounds in the fitting process, and the yarn holds its shape so well that placing stitches back on the needles is easy. I knitted a twisted rib instead of a regular rib, and the pattern stands out so beautifully in this yarn. The tonal nature of the colors, so like Malabrigo, the softness of the alpaca, the slight sheen of the silk, and the bounce of the merino make this a perfect yarn for sweaters. I bought it in Cuarzo and Azul Profundo, and I really wish I had bought more colors when they were available. This is a truly delightful yarn. I am anxious to see if it blooms when it is blocked.

        Service and delivery comments:

Delivery is always prompt with WEBS. I was excited to see that the two extra skeins of Azul Profundo I just ordered were the same dyelot as the ones I ordered a long time ago.

Wonderful color that inspired the pattern. The only downside was that even with alternating skeins, in the same dye lot, the back looks quite different.
