In 2 different color batches I got multiple very sloppy joins and several places where one ply was split and unraveled. I have used other Valley yarns and expected better quality than this. It is very soft but is a struggle to use because of all the bad spots you have to cut out. I won't buy it again.

Comments about Valley Yarns Charlemont:
I originally bought some Charlemont to coordinate with four colors of another yarn in weaving a tartan stole, so the weight, shape and color had to be exactly right. This is lovely stuff: high quality, good sheen, rich color and wonderful yardage for the price, as well as being strong enough for warp. I had a hank left over from the weaving project and have purchased more so I can knit something with it! Can tell it will have great stitch definition, too.

A very nice yarn. I'm knitting a shawl with it and it's wonderful. Shows the textural stitches very well. Has good stitch definition.

Comments about Valley Yarns Charlemont:
A beautiful silky soft yarn, nice for light weight projects. My only complaints is that it seems to pretty easily "catch" on itself and that it's a cat hair magnet (although really what yarn isn't?). Very happy with it!

Comments about Valley Yarns Charlemont:
I am using this yarn to crochet a suit jacket and skirt. I have the jacket back about half finished. I love the hand of the worked yarn and the color is very deep and rich. I have not had any problems with tangles or breakage. I am using a half_double crochet and the stitches are very smooth and even. I look forward to posting a picture of the finished suit.
