Because this lovely wool must be hand-washed, it is best used for adult projects. I've used it for scarves and hats and it's worked up beautifully. The colors are just as they appear on your monitor - so no need to worry that you'll picture one product and get another. I've used this yarn in several colors over the past year and have been happy with the outcome each time.

I have to say I'm disappointed with this yarn. Yeah, sure, it's got a great price point. It's also got vegetable matter in it. Sure, the color is great, but the hand is rather coarse, and it lacks the springiness of a GOOD wool yarn. That lack of springiness makes it harder to knit with. I'm glad this yarn is gone when this lot is gone, because I will definitely never buy more of it. It's a chore to work with, and the feel is comparable to something like Red Heart Super Savers. If I spend even this much on yarn, I expect more.

Comments about Valley Yarns Greenwich:
I was looking for a very economical yarn to use for a felting project, and this yarn worked great for that. My project didn't require any knitting with the yarn, so I can't speak to that.
Pros
- Economical
Cons
- color not as pictured
- Color was off
Best Uses
- Accesories
Comments about Valley Yarns Greenwich:
I have mixed thoughts on this yarn. Overall, it seems like a good yarn for the price and I would consider buying it again for the right project, but it's not really anything special. It's not super soft, but would be okay for a hat or a scarf. It also doesn't have much stretch to it either.
My biggest beef is that the eggplant color I ordered looks nothing like what is pictured. It's much more of a navy blue with very little purple compared to the dusty, dark purple that is pictured. Cest la vie.
Pros
- Forgiving
- Soft
- Warm
Cons
- Hand-wash only
Best Uses
- Adult Sweaters
- Hats
- Scarf

Comments about Valley Yarns Greenwich:
I've used this yarn twice already and love it. The colors are gorgeous - a little different. It knits up quickly and has a very soft hand so it's perfect for scarves as well as sweaters. I'm thinking about going back for more!
Comments about Valley Yarns Greenwich:
At $2.99 per skein this yarn is a great value. Since it is 2ply it won't pill as easily. I needed a good value since I had to purchase 85 skeins for my king size blanket project.
Pros
- Easy to knit with
Cons
Best Uses
Comments about Valley Yarns Greenwich:
The bolero used 5 skeins as indicated. The cables are well defined even with black yarn.
- Recommended:
- Knitted the bolero suggested with yarn promotion
Comments about Valley Yarns Greenwich:
I make hats for the homeless. I recently learned not to use beautiful colored yarn, as it can cause problems on the street. I Used "Woodland"
in Blue and it was great. But, what yarns aren't beautiful at WEBS?
- Recommended:
- Hats, mittens and warm cardigans
Comments about Valley Yarns Greenwich:
I used this in a variety of colors for stripes in felted bag class. It was a great choice.
