Weaving a Lacy Shawl on the Rigid Heddle Loom

In this class we will create a lightweight shawl using a cotton/linen warp and a tencel weft. We will create an open weave shawl that is lightweight and elegant where earthy linen and heavenly tencel combine in a finished piece that is gossamer in appearance with lovely leaf-like patterns flowing throughout. We will be working the warp and weft in interesting ways using a hand manipulated technique called leno lace to create our fabric. Students will need to come prepared with a dressed loom.
