Huck lace is a fabric of extraordinary richness and diversity, while being among the most beautiful of all weave structures. Eight-harness huck designs are particularly interesting, allowing weavers to create intricate patterns of circles, diamonds, and other shapes. This three-session workshop will provide an introduction to designing eight-harness huck lace.
Participants will design and weave short projects during the time between classes. Students must have access to, and familiarity with, eight-harness looms, should understand basic drafting principles, and should feel comfortable dressing a loom and weaving a short project within two weeks.
