Essential Guide to Color Knitting Techniques

Multicolor Yarns - Plain and Textured Stripes - Entrelac & Double Knitting - Stranding & Intarsia - Mosaic & Shadow Knitting - 150 Color Patterns
Imagine a cozy crib blanket knit in the colors of baby's nursery. Or an elegant cashmere wrap in rich jewel tones that set off a favorite black dress. How about a comfy pair of socks knit in school colors for your college-student daughter? Margaret Radcliffe unravels the intricacies of combining two or more yarn colors, clearly explaining the techniques that transform simple knitted items into fabulous masterpieces. With Radcliffe’s clear instructions as a reliable road map, every knitter will discover her inner color designer. There are complete chapters on stripes, stitch effects, knitting with multicolor yarns, stranded knitting, and intarsia, covering both the theory and the how-to behind each method. Additional chapters offer advice on modifying existing one-color patterns and designing new patterns that use two or more colors in a rainbow of designs.

Comments about Essential Guide to Color Knitting Techniques:

I have never recommended a knitting book though I worked in a LYS for several years and have a very extensive collection of books. This book warrants a review. It is fantastic for experienced knitters and designers. I am sure that the avid beginner would enjoy it as well. It is rare to find a book that is not just eye-candy but has in-depth knitting content. Bravo!
