I have used this yarn again and again for socks. It knits up beautifully and - according to the recipients - washes and dries beautifully. They say socks knit out of this yarn wear well - better than brand name commercially produced socks. I usually do solid colors in a lace pattern. The stitch definition is good and they don't felt or shrink as some super wash wool does. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten around to knitting any for myself yet.

This yarn is soft, the color is stunning BUT not on my hands. I used cerulean blue for a scarf and while knitting it up I felt like a Smurf. My fingers turned blue and it was not easily removable.I'm hoping some vinegar when I soak this will stop the problem. Other than that, it's Smurftastic! ( Sorry. Couldn't resist).

Comments about Cascade Yarns Heritage Sock Yarn:

I have used this yarn for socks and scarves in the past and most recently for a cardigan. I am most pleased with the drape and softness and can highly recommend it for projects like sweaters and cardigans that call for lighter weight and soft drape yarns.

Comments about Cascade Yarns Heritage Sock Yarn:

Making a white shawl to wear to a wedding. The yarn is good, even, nice color, good yardage, no knots. It splits ridiculously, though. Almost every "k2tog" has to be done again. It looks like the nylon strand is coming out each time.

Comments about Cascade Yarns Heritage Sock Yarn:

This is one tough yarn. I have previously left comments about how much I like this yarn. I accidentally washed a pair of navy blue socks made from this yarn, in with the hot water and chlorine bleach. They did not fade or felt in the least. I remains to be seen what the long term effects of the chlorine bleach on the wool will be, but you can rest assured that throwing this yarn in the washing machine - albeit using the recommended washing technique and not the one I used - that it will not fade or shrink. Great yarn.

Comments about Cascade Yarns Heritage Sock Yarn:

I purchased two skeins of this yarn in Navy from Webs for men's socks, because it is reputed to be hard-wearing and wash well. I am halfway through knitting the size 12 socks. I got impatient and needed a quick project to tide me over so I purchased two more skeins of this yarn in Charcoal from my LYS and knit myself some little ankle socks, figuring the leftovers would end up as a second pair of men's socks. My new socks have pilled horribly and begun felting after wearing ONCE and not yet being washed! I knit them on size 0s and they fit perfectly. I am heartbroken and don't know what to do with the huge men's socks I've been laboring over. I would not recommend these for socks, gloves, baby items, or anything else that will get heavy use. Quite poor quality compared to the other Cascade yarns I have used.

Comments about Cascade Yarns Heritage Sock Yarn:

This yarn was recommended by a friend to use (Crochet)instead of a cotton yarn around flannel baby blankets. It is extremely soft, I did have it split on me at first, but I don't typically crochet, so figure that may have something to do with it. I can see this being used for socks... and since the colors are very nice, for baby clothing. I have made a couple of little sweaters from the leftovers.
