I have used this yarn again and again for socks. It knits up beautifully and - according to the recipients - washes and dries beautifully. They say socks knit out of this yarn wear well - better than brand name commercially produced socks. I usually do solid colors in a lace pattern. The stitch definition is good and they don't felt or shrink as some super wash wool does. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten around to knitting any for myself yet.

This yarn is soft, the color is stunning BUT not on my hands. I used cerulean blue for a scarf and while knitting it up I felt like a Smurf. My fingers turned blue and it was not easily removable.I'm hoping some vinegar when I soak this will stop the problem. Other than that, it's Smurftastic! ( Sorry. Couldn't resist).

Comments about Cascade Yarns Heritage Sock Yarn:

My Cascade Heritage socks are holding up well after 4 or 5 years. I usually machine wash them and air dry them, but sometimes am careful enough to hand wash them. I made Retro Rib socks (out of Interweave Knits magazine) from them and they show the pattern nicely. I made socks for my little boy out of them, too. I'm looking forward to using the yarn again.

Comments about Cascade Yarns Heritage Sock Yarn:

I had to write a second review of this product now that I have actually gotten a pair of socks for myself from it. I love this sock yarn. It is smooth, soft, springy, shows great stitch definition, washes well, wears well - with no pilling. I have mainly made socks for my sister as gifts and she raves about them. She lives in Minnesota so winters can be quite brutal and she has a job where she is in and out constantly. The socks keep her feet warm and are comfortable. I finally got a pair made for myself and they are my favorite. The self patterning yarns are fun but sometimes you need something more subdued so these solids are great - just throw in some cables and lace and you have classy and fun socks. Can't say enough good things about this yarn.

I am knitting Funky Grandpa sweater with this yarn and it is nice and soft. I am not finished yet but have tried it on for fit. I love the way it feels next to my skin. It is truly a lovely yarn and I would buy it again. It does not split or knot and is easy to fix mistakes

                Service and delivery comments:

My yarn arrived in good condition but I did have to wait almost a week for it to arrive.

Comments about Cascade Yarns Heritage Sock Yarn:

I typically use this for socks knit to 10 sts/inch.

I have used several solid colors of this yarn, and am very please with how it works up, wears, and washes. Consistent color, great stitch definition for cables and lace, and no knots or nubs in any of my skeins (hurray!). No problems with splitting or shedding, no fading or bleeding noted, and it machine washes & tumble dries just fine. Also a nice yarn for when I prefer to air dry socks on sock blockers, as it does not grow when wet like some superwash yarns does. Wears very well with little to no pilling.

I love knitting with this yarn. I used 2 skeins to make color work gloves AND socks in black and white. Both skens were even throughout and matching in weight. It is soft and plesant to work with at a great price. I did find 1 knot. My projects looked great even before blocking. I have ordered more.
