This is my second scarf using this yarn. I am using Harvest color and it is dying my fingers will this rub off my clothes? I used Grapevine for the first one and it not do this. I have used the Classic shades to make other items and did not have this problem. Is there a remedy for this?

Comments about Universal Yarn Classic Shades:
I really like crocheting with this yarn. One warning - it's not very frog (rip-out) friendly, so it might be best for novice crocheters and knitters to stay away from this yarn. I love the self-striping and unique blends int his yarn though.

Comments about Universal Yarn Classic Shades:
I purchased this yarn for the express purpose of crocheting some fingerless gloves. I am so happy with the way it worked up. The colors are gorgeous, the yarn is soft, and the stitches have definition despite the halo. I would definitely buy this yarn again.
One "however" is, don't plan to frog it easily as it is very sticky. Just take your time.

Comments about Universal Yarn Classic Shades:
I am a novice knitter and this yarn was recommended to me for a handbag. It was unsuitable for that project because of its stretch, but it was so beautiful and knitted up so softly in the swatch that I kept it on hand. When I wanted to knit a Prayer Shawl for a friend I decided to knit it up taking advantage of its softness and washability. The pattern (LaLa's Simple Shawl) called for 490yds of a worsted weight and I had 4 skeins of 197yds each (788yds) and thought I was good to go but I could have used another skein. My gauge was 3.5/in instead of the pattern gauge of 3/in, but like other reviewers, I would question its classification as worsted weight. The yarn split easily (frustrating for a novice knitter) and there were some issues with bumpiness/fluffiness (short lengths that were untwisted/poorly twisted) that had to be cut out (annoying since I had to tink out enough to weave in the loose ends). The yarn was not easy to tink and didn't stand up to being unraveled to correct my mistakes because it "stuck" to itself. In 4 skeins I only encountered one knot, and one totally unconnected (several yards long) piece.
All that being said, the shawl is beautiful - the "Wild Berries" colors are wonderful (blues and maroon) and the shawl is soft and invitingly snugly. I would use this yarn again if I find another project it suits because its advantages will outweigh its frustrations as I get more experience.

Comments about Universal Yarn Classic Shades:
This is such a great yarn, that it has taken me 6 months to figure out what to knit with it. I'm knitting a wide shawl wrap and so far, it has been a dream, to deal with! Now, I just need to get some other colors, since they are so vibrant!

Comments about Universal Yarn Classic Shades:
I made a cable patterned pullover shawl. Love the color and made my best friend one also. Please, please bring back the Watermelon color. It is so cheery and soothing a color. Why was it discontinued? I found the Classic Shades yarn easy to use, smooth and warm feel.
