Blue Sky Alpacas Suri Merino

Our friends at Blue Sky Alpacas describe this yarn as opulent meets orthodox, and that certainly fits this yarn is both basic and precious. A silky, itch-free combination of baby suri alpaca and the softest merino wool, the single-ply yarn will sing in textured or plain knitting. Made in Peru.

There isn't a hat pattern that I have made that hasn't looked beautiful in this yarn. I only wish there was a brown.

Comments about Blue Sky Alpacas Suri Merino:

4-1/2 stars! I love the yarns from Blue Sky Alpacas and this was no exception. The colors are lovely and the texture of the yarn is wonderful. I loved handling and knitting with it. The only reason I docked it a half star is that in stranded colorwork the working yarn tends to entangle itself and try to weld with the other strands (I'm using 3 colors at the moment). On the other hand, that means that the ends will weave in easily and stay put.

        Wonderfully Soft Single ply

        By Anonymous

        from West Chester, PA

Comments about Blue Sky Alpacas Suri Merino:

This yarn is absolutely wonderful. It is very soft - like butter, has great drape, very easy to knit with and can withstand being ripped back and knitted again. Holds up very well. I just noticed the price change - $3.00 per skein more than when I bought mine. I would still buy this yarn -even with the price increase. Love this Yarn!

        Deliciously Decadent

        By Anonymous

        from Fort Collins, CO

Comments about Blue Sky Alpacas Suri Merino:

This could likely win as my favorite yarn of all time. No variegation, nothing flashy about it but it feels like you're knitting with butter. Even a big project is exquisite to knit with this yarn and never gets boring because it just feels so good in your hands to knit with. I will say though, it does form pills more than I thought it would, but that still didn't dismay me. Knit it into casual comfy sweaters and you won't be disappointed!
