Blue Sky Fibers Suri Merino

Our friends at Blue Sky Alpacas describe this yarn as "opulent meets orthodox", which certainly fits this yarn. A silky, itch-free combination of baby suri alpaca and the softest merino wool, the single-ply yarn will sing in textured or plain knitting. Made in Peru.

Comments about Blue Sky Alpacas Suri Merino:

This is undoubtedly the best yarn in the world! I would like to live in anything made with it. Soft enough for the most precious baby. It is not washable except by hand, but it is so lovely that I would never consider putting it in the washing machine. Suri merino reaches a new level of heaven!

Comments about Blue Sky Alpacas Suri Merino:

This is a very soft barley twisted yarn - it splits, I would recommend bamboo or wooden needles with blunt tips for faster knitting. It feels like the underbelly of a baby rabbit when you are knitting with it, it is sensual and worth slowing down and enjoying the knit.

Comments about Blue Sky Alpacas Suri Merino:

I've been intrigued by Blue Sky Alpacas FOR YEARS! This is the first BSA product I've ever purchased (other than Spud & Chloe Sweater, which I also LOVE) & based on this experience, I'll RUSH to try more yarns by BSA. The texture of this yarn is GORGEOUS, softer than marshmallows and clouds. My colorway (411 Cloud) is just as kitten-soft and beautiful as the texture. BTW, if you were lucky enough to snag a Free People "5 Layer Maxi Skirt" in the PALE pastel blue-grey color (sold out now -- they only have "washed black" left on sale), the Cloud colorway in this yarn coordinates PERFECTLY. I love this yarn in general PLUS the Cloud colorway solved my design problem of what-in-the-world-am-I-going-to-wear-with-this-unbelievably-beautiful-skirt-in-such-a-startlingly-gorgeous-but-offbeat-color. (Not quite powder-blue...but not quite palest-dove-grey either...pretty much halfway in between the two, SO soft & beautiful.)
