Comments about Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool:
I was excited to start a shawl using this yarn and was very happy with the outcome until I came across a knot just several inches into my project. Before I reached the end of the skein, I came across two more knots. Very disappointing. I have put my project on hold, and probably won't buy this yarn again. So unfortunate.

Comments about Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool:
I purchased a ball of this at my LYS to swatch before ordering. Glad I did. It's classified as a DK, and it looks like about a DK -- until you knit it up. It's very lightweight, with a loose twist, so it knits up more as a fingering. This yarn would be ideal for a floaty, lacy scarf, but I wouldn't recommend it for a cozy sweater. That said, it's pretty, has a good hand, and the texture is just the teeniest bit pebbly. It knits up very evenly.

I was excited to find this yarn at a discounted price. I started to use it and discovered it breaks easily without much pressure. I was simply casting on using long tail method.

Comments about Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool:
I loved the look of the yarn and made my son a scarf and gloves for Christmas several years ago. Hebought a new winter "church " coat so I had to make him a new one that matched it. He stopped by while I was doing this review and said he would like a dark navy set. The yarn is very easy to work with, has even stitches, does not curl up, cleans easily and makes my son happy.

Comments about Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool:
I love, love, love this yarn. It makes me happy. I've collected a number of colors and now have plenty to make lovely multi-colored afghans or scarves. Sometimes when a color is discontinued, WEBS will have it as a closeout which is a great time to stock up.
The DK weight is great for sweaters that aren't too bulky. It works up great in a lace pattern too.

Comments about Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool:
I used this yarn to make a sweater with cables and was very pleased with the result. The stitches showed beautifully and the fabric had just enough body. I chose a deep color; each time I've washed the sweater (over 5 years now) a bit more dye comes out in the water, but I cannot notice a change in the color of the sweater -- it is still a rich plum color. An added bonus is that the yarn feels good in your hands while you are using it.
Comments about Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool:
Lightweight, warm, drapey, a little limp so choose project wisely. Great for blankets. Hand wash carefully because the dye runs a bit.
Comments about Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool:
I think this yarn is wonderful, though I only used one skein for my first lace scarf. i had to knit and un-knit many times. The yarn was very friendly and forgiving.
Comments about Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool:
I had one knot in each of two skeins (out of 11), and a lot of vegetable matter to pull out. These things ARE manageable, and the resulting fabric is lightweight and warm, with a somewhat rustic appearance. I did not have any splittiness, and am happy with the final result.
