I like the color choices of this yarn. It lends itself nicely to lace work and of course socks. I have used this yarn for the Swirly Shawl in several shades and am quite pleased with the finished projects.
One caveat is that the yarn likes to split if you are not paying attention to the tension while you knit.

I used this yarn to make a pair of legwarmers. The pattern was poorly written and it turned out I had to hold the yarn double to make it work (no fault of the yarn).

The pros: I absolutely love how the finished product looks and feels. It is soft and squishy, and I believe they will keep the recipient's legs toasty warm. The gradual color changes are beautiful blends of red and violet.

The cons: I absolutely hated working with this yarn. Each strand is really two strands of different colors twisted together rather loosely. This results in constantly splitting each strand. Now consider that I was working with two strands held together; this meant that there were effectively 4 strands to each stitch. Generally I do not have a problem with split stitches, but I did it constantly with this yarn, even once I was aware of the problem.

yarn kept breaking, making it impossible to knit with

        Comments about Jojoland Melody Superwash:

I haven't seen this problem described by others using this yarn, but I have found it to be impossible to use--it keeps breaking! I am knitting a cowl and the first 80% of the first ball was great. Then, the yarn kept breaking and I would have to cut it and knit in the new end. It got so I couldn't knit more than one row around before the yarn broke again. Thinking I had a faulty ball, I pulled out another ball and started to knit. After a few rounds, this ball started breaking too. I will bind off the cowl smaller than I intended. The colors are beautiful, but I will not purchase this yarn again.

I am using this on an MKAL through ravelry. I love the feel of the yarn and the transition from one color to the next. I haven't washed it yet as only the 1st clue has been released so far but I would guess that washing will not change the feel and softness.

I love the long striping and soft color transition. For lace patterns, it's a little slippery. Since it's superwash yarn it would be nice if the yardage was at least 450 yards.

Made a nice shawl in the crocodile stitch. It is lovely. The dye has such a long change that whole rows appear to be one color or another. Even with different dye lots, the colors meld together well.

                Comments about Jojoland Melody Superwash:

I have a side-to-side baby sweater pattern that I love with this yarn. I do it in garter stitch, two rows of this yarn and two rows of a matching or contrasting solid sock yarn. The slow color shifts look beautiful and the solid ties the whole thing together. Plus the yarn is machine washable, so it's great for new parents who won't have time or energy to hand-wash a baby sweater. I keep a pile on hand for friends and relatives with new babies.

Excellent service, only took a few days to receive yarn.
wish yarn had been placed in a plastic bag and not just in the mailing bag. Mailing bag had tears in it but yarn was not damaged or dirtied.
