I like the color choices of this yarn. It lends itself nicely to lace work and of course socks. I have used this yarn for the Swirly Shawl in several shades and am quite pleased with the finished projects.
One caveat is that the yarn likes to split if you are not paying attention to the tension while you knit.

Warning: photos do not represent the actual colors! I ordered color #27, which looks like a nice multi in the photo. In reality it's only 2 colors: red and green. It looks awful, like blood on astroturf. Not only that, but as I wound it into a ball, I found two knots and one break in a single skein. I would not recommend buying this.

Comments about Jojoland Melody Superwash:
I ordered two skeins each of #42 and #27. I was really wanting to use the #27 color for my Dreambird shawl I was getting prepped for, but when I was winding the yarn, I only had two colors out of the many that they show in their picture swatch: red and green. I wanted a bit more color changes than just those two colors (so I was a bit disappointed in that). I wound up the #42 color and it had such variety of color! I really love this yarn and the color choice for my shawl which I paired up with Sensations Truly sock yarn. I wanted all my yarns to be machine washable. One thing is I wish it was more Fingering yarn than Light Fingering, it is quite a bit thinner in some areas than my other sock yarn I'm using.
Here is the WIP of the shawl I am working on with the #42 Melody Superwash.

Comments about Jojoland Melody Superwash:
I made a shawl with the Jojoland rhythm, turned out lovely. I plan on using the Melody for a sampler vintage pattern - it calls for a finer yarn - however I need a solid to join the squares or perhaps a nice black and grey color wave would add a sensational look using bright and different color waves for each of the squares. I would like to see black and greys in the Jojoland Rhythm rather than the Navy. I think this would be a great seller for making a nice Winter Shawl, Coat or Sweater that would go with everything. I also made several scarfs for gifts. I made a georgous entrelac queen size bedspread with Jojoland Rhythm - I mixed all the color waves. I was fortunate enough to find a huge bag of this at an estate sale. It was a rare bargain I might add. Amazing is a better word. There were over 80 balls of Jojoland Rhythm. I took advantage of the numerous color waves and created my prized possession - Siesta in the Pines - I love this Bedspread especially on my Queen Size Poster Bed. Delightfully cozy and extremely warm, however not too heavy. Perfect for the winter months. I ended up having to puchase about 15 more balls but it was worth the results. Glorious results and it was completely crocheted in rounds. Mine shows noticable color changes because I continuously worked in a circle. It is not symetrically correct - I did this with intent to give it a artsy or rag time appeal. In the years of past, they used any colors they had. I always found them to be most creative and love the scappy look this has. My Grandmother always used whatever she could even included adding a strand of string for strength she would say. She would use 2 strands if needed of this and that etc. I loved her dearly and was always fascinated with her wonderful creations. I am blessed to have worked with her and still remember her holding me on her lap while she had me feed fabric through the old treadle machine. I couldn't even reach the peddal - I was only 5 years old. But she taught me in those many hours of patience and kindness, accuracy and speed amoung other skills I have never forgotten over the years. I will say this her motto was - IF YOU MAKE A MISTAKE CORRECT IT - IF YOU EXPECT GOOD RESULTS.

I knit upstairs shawl for a friend and loved it so much, I bought more yarn to knit one for myself. Only problem is that I could not match the same color. I think the dye lots change over the years. Still beautiful yarn and I may purchase more for future projects.

Comments about Jojoland Melody Superwash:
I am crocheting a light weight afghan...actually two. The colorations of this yarn gives beautiful depth and interest to each one. One is large granny squares of a variety of dye lots and colors. The other is a combination of 3 colorsways in one big granny square. I love the feel of this yarn in my hands as I work with it.

Comments about Jojoland Melody Superwash:
I was expecting something with a range of colors. What I got was just red and green. I call it "blood on astroturf." It's gag-worthy. One of the two skeins had 3 knots in it. I'm so disappointed.

Comments about Jojoland Melody Superwash:
I used 3 balls of Melody Superwash for the Japanese Feather Scarf (wide) and liked it so much that I came back and purchased 6 balls in another color to knit the Japanese Feather Stole. The yarn knit well, with no knots or flaws, and it blocked out heavenly!

Comments about Jojoland Melody Superwash:
I love the blending of colors in melody and how gradually the colors change. I've used it in scarves and shawls to beautiful effect. The yarn is soft enough for those who love soft yarn, but sturdy enough to hold up to repeated use. The one thing I don't particularly like about this yarn is that there isn't a wider color selection. The price is another good factor.

Merchant response: Unfortunately, because of the color changes, each ball of Melody is unique. We try to show a variety of different balls of the same color on our site, but they do vary.
