I like the color choices of this yarn. It lends itself nicely to lace work and of course socks. I have used this yarn for the Swirly Shawl in several shades and am quite pleased with the finished projects.
One caveat is that the yarn likes to split if you are not paying attention to the tension while you knit.

I used this yarn to make a pair of legwarmers. The pattern was poorly written and it turned out I had to hold the yarn double to make it work (no fault of the yarn).

The pros: I absolutely love how the finished product looks and feels. It is soft and squishy, and I believe they will keep the recipient's legs toasty warm. The gradual color changes are beautiful blends of red and violet.

The cons: I absolutely hated working with this yarn. Each strand is really two strands of different colors twisted together rather loosely. This results in constantly splitting each strand. Now consider that I was working with two strands held together; this meant that there were effectively 4 strands to each stitch. Generally I do not have a problem with split stitches, but I did it constantly with this yarn, even once I was aware of the problem.

        Comments about Jojoland Melody Superwash:

I bought this for a baby blanket and I hope the baby is a girl because there is a lot more pink than green, yellow and orange shown in the sample. The color changes are more frequent than I expected, too, although it still works for the blanket I'm making. The colors in the plies do not change together so make a more tweedy coloration than I would like. I have found that there are multiple knots in nearly every ball, although all of the ones I have encountered thus far have only been in one of the plies so I have just left them. The yarn is soft and squishy, delightful to knit with. I would use this yarn again but would choose colors more carefully.

I made a hat that feels lovely to wear - beautiful color blending, soft and not scratchy. Perfect weight for this S. Indiana climate. Now working on the Swirl Shawl. Wouldn't use it for socks as it's 100% wool.

I absolutely love this yarn! I used it to make a beaded bag for my Scottish dance shoes and it turned out so cute! The colors are bright and so cheerful. You cannot knit with this and be grumpy, the texture, colors, and the beautiful way it stripes just leaves you smiling! Enjoy!

Package had come open during shipping and 2 balls were lost. Customer Service immediately sent 2 balls replacement - same dye lot. Awesome service.

              Comments about Jojoland Melody Superwash:

Interesting effects in modular sweaters and those with short rows. It's sometimes difficult to join balls, as the very gradual color shifts don't always line up with each other. Before starting a project, I find it's useful to number all balls according to how well their starts match the ends of other balls, so I have a sequence in which to knit them.
Although this is labeled superwash, it can shrink a bit and felt in a washing machine.
Overall, the effects can be beautiful---worth the effort of pre-ordering color shifts and careful washing. Recommend for experienced and adventurous knitters.

Made sweaters for my grandchildren that have been worn repeatedly for 2 years now. Yarn is fun to knit with and colors were beautiful. They are getting worn out now but still look good. Had to repair a few snags this year but they have withstood constant wearing.
