Louet Euroflax Sport
Louet Euroflax Sport is a long line linen made out of flax-fiber. The yarn is double-boiled and steamed to give it a very soft and exceptional quality. Louet Euroflax Sport is great for home decor projects, but also fantastic for garments.

I have finished the most beautiful garment-a suite for myself from Euroflax sport weight in french blue using #2 needles. I have heard from several people that it is difficult to knit due to yarn does not give. I did not have any problem with the yarn, and even if I had, the end product would have worth the difficulties. I knitted the skirt from the Interweave Knits, Spring 2007. The pattern name is "Indigo Ripples Skirt". I created the matching top myself. The look is so polished and almost etherial, it creates a "Wow!" effect wherever I go. I had even stranger man complimenting on my outfit! It is good enough to go to a classy dinner or a day wedding, and the linen feels so great in a summer! I am in love with the yarn. It took 6 scanes to create my suite, but it is worth every penny!

This linen feels more like twine. it is quite stiff and hard to knit with. I can't use it for the sweater I was thinking of because it feels like mesh when it is knit up. It might be useful for craft projects or accessories.

Pros
- Consistent thickness
- Excellent quality
- Thorough And Even Dyeing
Cons
Best Uses
- Crocheted "string" Bag
- Knit Washcloth
- Summer Sweater
Don't be afraid to knit with linen! Working with it can be discouraging at first, because it seems stiff, so it's hard to maintain an even tension. But as soon as it's washed, it plumps up and fills in the spaces to form a beautiful, smooth fabric. It's comfortable to wear -- as a natural fiber, it breathes and doesn't smother you in warm weather. It's definitely worth the effort to make a special garment out of linen, because it will wear well and last a very long time. After using this and several other similar products, I believe that Louet's Euroflax is the best linen yarn available.

I wish these skeins came in 50g size since they are expensive.
When knitting in stockinette stitch, my fabric biased terribly. Using a different stitch pattern will affect your outcome.

Pros

Bought this yarn to make a sturdy market/string bag and loved the color so much that I used it for a gift - a spa/exfoliating wash cloth - instead. The yarn gets a lot of negative comments for feeling rough or stiff, but it softens as it is knit and handled. It also softens dramatically in the wash (it is machine wash and dry) without loosing its exfoliating properties or drape and stitch definition. Great stuff for apparel - I have admired a stole at a LYS for years and am now kicking myself for not buying enough to make one for myself before it went off sale :o(

I purchased Euroflax at a price lower than any other source. Since I have received such excellent service in the past, I would naturally come to WEBS first, and was pleasantly surprised to see a sale on the yarn I wanted. I ordered two colours, received one within a week and was notified the other was out of stock but would be back-ordered at the same price. I didn't have to chase anyone down for it -- it arrived this week.
Lowest price, great service, quick response time -- it doesn't get any better than that.

I have used this yarn for 2 summer scarves/wraps that I love. I knew what to expect with linen so I wasn't bothered by the stiffness of the working yarn. My hands did ache a bit but it's worth it. The magic happens once it's washed and dried. It softens up beautifully. The colors are vibrant and it feels cool against the skin. I recommend making a swatch, then washing/drying it before making any garment that requires specific measurements. This is a premium example of 100% linen that sets the standard for all the rest.

I've used this yarn freguently and it is definitely the very best linen available, perfect for three season wear. It's very hard on the hands to knit with because it has no natural stretch (although the knitted garment will have stretch), but the finished product is always worth it. Knitted linen can be machine washed and dried and just gets softer (dry it flat to crisp it up) and it doesn't wrinkle, ever! Euroflax has a lovely sheen and its long fiber construction makes it really durable. Its especially nice for lace projects. My recent purchase of 8 skeins for a fall sweater was a biig leap, but I know I will love it
