This was my first Malabrigo and my first lace-weight yarn - and it has completely raised my standards. It's soft and luxurious without being overbearing or itchy - and best of all, it's actually warm! And by far, Malabrigo has some of the best colors around, for the absolute best price. It's wonderful.

Easily the most disappointing yarn I have worked with. Ever. Yes, it is incredibly soft. If this is the only criterion to you, go with it but: The first of my skeins had 7 knots, the second 16. There were multiple areas where the yarn was not spun even (uneven as in changes from lace weight to almost bulky!), which was contrasted by extremely thin areas. The shawl that I made with it looks as it was attacked by moths! To add to the list of wonderful attributes, the yarn is extremely sticky which makes winding a real treat. I highly recommend this yarn for people looking for a quick felting project as it is readily doing so while knitted. No, I do not suffer from 'hot' hands.

This is a beautiful yarn for scarves. It's soft and lightweight. I purchased 5 different colors and they are all beautiful. I'm so fond of Malabrigo that I have ordered Malabrigo Sock yarn. Can't wait.

Comments about Malabrigo Lace:
I truly loved working with this yarn. It was super soft and felt good in my hands. It had just the right about of stretch to make knitting with it quite enjoyable.
It does have variances in weight which could be a pro or a con, depending on what you are knitting. For my purposes, I loved the variations in weight from thin to somewhat thick.
I made a shawl with it, but I think it would make a lovely, soft, light-weight sweater. I will definitely purchase this yarn again.

Comments about Malabrigo Lace:
I have tried other lace weight yarns for felting a scarf design I love, wool and alpaca, and none give the end product that Malabrigo does.

Comments about Malabrigo Lace:
It's very pretty, but is unevenly spun, so the weight varies from thread-thin in places up to DK weight in others. This makes it look very natural but it definitely doesn't have the consistency of a more industrial yarn. I'm a bit concerned that the thread-thin parts may end up being weak. Since I'm making something lacy, the unnevennes is actually quite lovely, but if I were making something that needed even stitches it might be tough.

Comments about Malabrigo Lace:
This yarn has got to be the softest wool around. It is soft and fluffy and holds stitch patterns beautifully. I would say that the one thing to remember about this yarn is the uneven dye lots. If you plan to use more than one skein, be certain to use the 'two rows from two skeins' method or you could end up with a visible join line.
