Comments about Noro Silk Garden Sock:

Used this for a scarf with another yarn, beautiful unfolding of color that looks like a color wheel. I like the variegated thickness/thinness of the yarn as it adds to the texture of the scarf. It is perhaps not the softest yarn but I wouldn't call it scratchy.

Comments about Noro Silk Garden Sock:

yarn twists to itself constantly, making the knitting very slow and cumbersome. Large blobs of unspun fibres, some woody bits, then real thin yarn - very uneven, difficult to gauge and place in the right part of garment. Colours were nice, but some places the yarn was joined by a knot, and the colours did not match. Had to discard large lengths of really heavy yarn (total waste). Very pricey for the quality. May be a modern yarn, but too trendy - I'll go with the traditional. Thank you very much.

Comments about Noro Silk Garden Sock:

I like this yarn. However I was disappointed in the color I chose. I think larger samples on the website would be beneficial. I also find this yarn to be coarser than I thought it would be. It is very easy to knit with. I would recommend this yarn to a friend with a caution about the color choices.

Comments about Noro Silk Garden Sock:

I always have an issue with sock yarns where the thread is broken in production and then continued indiscriminately without any consideration for continuity of overall color design. I was disappointed to notice that one 100g skein makes easily a pair of socks, one green and one purple. The color design is so 'long', that you won't get two repeats out of one skein - which makes a difference if you are keen on symmetry. The only way around that would've been to purchase two skeins, but would I have gotten two of the same repeat? Probably not. Yes, the colors are gorgeous, but to my taste the texture is awful, harsh, spiney, and gauge of yarn inconsistent. You wind up with sloppy, droopy socks that need handwashing (now, seriously, how sensible is that?). This was my first and last experiment with the much revered Noro yarn, there are more consistent yarns with much more reliable production quality and at least equal if not better, color designs out there.

Comments about Noro Silk Garden Sock:

Silk Garden Sock is very versatile and fun to work with. The texture and diameter tend to be more varied then Kureyon Sock, and tends to run more towards sport weight. Beautiful in multiple uses such as quick to knit socks, wraps/shawls, baby items, and light weight sweaters.
