Made a striped slouchy hat with 2 different skeins and it is very pretty when you do this. This is what they do in a lot of the sweater patterns from Noro too.

The Upside: This yarn has some really beautiful colors and is super warm knitted up. The Noro Stripped Scarf I made (Raverly pattern) turned out lovely.

The Downside: Both skeins I used were full of sharp small organic material that needed to be picked out every few yards (I'm not exaggerating). Plus it's very coarse. Most people would probably find it unpleasant against bare skin.

I decided I while I wouldn't recommend this yarn to a friend, I would use it again myself.

    Comments about Noro Silk Garden:

Made a hat out of 1 skein in #373 color (only 1 yd left). Nice and warm, and gorgeous color (#373). The mohair gives it a nice fuzzy look, without losing the striping effect. One of my new favorite hats.

      Comments about Noro Silk Garden:

I have been using this yarn for a self-designed entrelac cardigan, and I am quite disappointed with it. The worse feature is that not all of the colors in this colorway (211) are represented in each skein, making very hard to balance what colors show where in the garment. Some "stand out" colors were found in only half the skeins in the same dye lot. It feels far harsher than many reviewers descriptions led me to believe. And like several other reviews I just read, I found many bits of sharp plant material wound into the yarn. I would think that a pricey yarn would have come from cleaner wool!

          Comments about Noro Silk Garden:

I used this product in a multi-colored modular sweater so the wide swings in tints were perfect, do not think I would use it otherwise. When I put tension on the yarn to snug up a stitch, it broke, needless to say, I wasn't too happy about that.

I find this yarn combines with other like weighted yarns very well.
I have made anything from caps, sweaters, shawls, and lap throws.
Currently I am going to make a small area rug for my own hardwood floors.

              Comments about Noro Silk Garden:

I purchased this yarn to knit an entralac project. While the yarn is a beautiful color and has very nice, long colorways, it also has some very big problems. It is not twisted well so unravels. It has some type of fine string sticking out all over. Wood or straw chips were throughout the skein and in one skein I had to contend with 4 knots. Also, the yarn goes from quite thick in spots to thin throughout the skein. I bought 4 skeins to make my project. I think I'm going to return the 3 I have not rolled for a refund.
