Rowan Cocoon
A subtle light twist lends uniqueness to COCOON, a bulky blend of ultra-soft merino and the slight fuzz of kid mohair. The lighter shade doesn’t actually show, but lends a delicious contrast and silvery sheen to the rich colors of COCOON’s hues. Count on Rowan’s patterns to give knitters lots of great ideas for this multi-faceted yarn. Made in U.K.

Comments about Rowan Cocoon:
Used a pattern for "Ruched Scarf." Upon completion the scarf measured 75" after a 10 minute soak in tepid water and wool wash, towel roll to remove excess water and loosely laying flat to dry it grew to 92"-(bonus for recipient!) but is this normal for this fiber?

Comments about Rowan Cocoon:
I purchased this for a cowl. I just love the color I chose which was Bilberry. It is such soft yarn and knits up quickly and will be ideal for the cowl pattern I am using. It does shed a bit and will show hairs on dark clothing but I still think it is a wonderful product and would buy again.

Comments about Rowan Cocoon:
Am knitting the lattice cowl (from Cowl Girls) with this yarn in Shale. This yarn is more fuzzy than I expected, and it's soft, though it tends to shed a bit, but it's worth it. It's going to be a very warm accessory. Not sure I'd knit a whole sweater from it, though. The colors are limited unless you like neutrals.

Just finished knitting up a cabled pullover with this yarn. One word: LUV!!
Comments about Rowan Cocoon:
I'm raving I'm raving. I've knit two sweater out of this yarn. The stitches are so perfectly spaced that it looks like a designer garment. The colors are very ambiguous in a good way because of the delightful sheen this yarn has. I think this yarn blows Ariosa out of the water. I swatched Ariosa several different ways and it is limp and lifeless compared to Cocoon. It also pills, fuzzes and just comes apart into a wispy mess. Cocoon is a luxury yarn that wears extremely well.

I just knit up 3 balls of Rowan Cocoon Alpine Grey to make a Lacey Leaf Capelet by Eline Oftedal - this yarn is very soft, easy to "spit-splice" join ends and knits wonderfully - highly recommend this beautiful yarn !
Comments about Rowan Cocoon:
Just finished the Quincy hat from Jared Flood's Classic Elite pattern book, Made in Brooklyn. It only took one skein of Cocoon which was a great substitute for Classic Elite Ariosa. The colors of Cocoon are so luscious. And hat is going to be my go-to warm hat for the winter, soft and beautiful. Now I wish I could afford to knit a sweater in this yarn.
