Beautiful yarn, with great color selection (especially as it's bulky), and really great price for an alpaca mix. I'd definitely recommend trying. I made a couple of projects on the Berkshire, and for a pair of mittens, I was looking for a bulky yarn, and decided to try to the bulky version. It came out so great that I returned to the store for more colors. I got compliments on the final product, people loved how warm it is and how soft it feels. For women's size mittens one skein will do the job. For men's = it depends - but for larger hands you'd need two. I'd definitely use it again.

I've done two sweaters, one hat and one pair of slippers with this yarn. It's easy to work with and knits up quickly. The only small complaint that I would have is that it isn't the greatest to use for sewing up seams. It tends to break. I would definitely use this yarn again.

You can't beat this yarn for super warm winter hats and mittens!!! Nice price, available in lovely colors-it knits up quickly and wears rather well. Pills a bit with hard wear-this yarn is a workhorse and should be in everyones yarn stash!!!!

I've been knitting for 7 years and this yarn is my favorite of all the ones I've worked with!!! I knit hats often and I have found that this yarn is great for using with other novelty yarns to create a cool multi-colored look. It is soft, and never itchy. :D

Actually, the only negative (if you can call it that) thing I've experienced, is quite a bit of "shedding". Not enough to keep me from using again - and again! The colors are true and bright and great to work with during a dull, gray winter!

I've knit for 40 years, and this is one of the nicest yarns I've ever used. I can't understand the negative comments - it's a joy to work with, soft and even in the hands, with wonderful color saturation. Yes, it's spun, not plied, but I've had zero problems with it unravelling or pulling apart. Even bulky jackets/sweaters (I've knit this up to a #13 needle) have a pleasing drape. This is one classy yarn, and the price cannot be beat. If I could give it ten stars, I would!

Used this yarn for a scarf, and ended up with a warm, cozy finished product that looked beautiful knit up. Also surprisingly soft. I didn't face any issues with splitting or pulling/chafing while knitting. It was a bit difficult to weave in the ends when finished, as some of the ends were loose and puffy, but not a major problem.

This yarn was good for my particular project (a Jayne Cobb Cunning Hat from the series Firefly). I needed a rustic yarn in red, orange and yellow and this was the only one I found with all those available. The finished product looks good, but it does pull apart quite a bit and requires twisting while working, which got annoying rather quickly. Chafed my hands a bit too after a couple of hours, so if you're sensitive to that sort of thing you might think twice.

I just finished a woman's sleeveless jacket with a collar and I liked this yarn very much. The feel is soo soft, the brown color is very pretty, and the yarn is easy to knit. The overall look is casual and fits the style of the jacket.
