I've knitted a sweater and a tunic for my daughter using this yarn, and am just starting a sweater for myself. This yarn is so soft! Cables and other stitches are well-defined but did not make the fabric too stiff to drape well. I would probably tighten up on the gauge a bit if I were making something in plain stockinette, though, since the pieces do loosen up a bit when washed or blocked. The colors are gorgeous -- my favorite is the midnight blue heather. It has just a subtle hint of red in it, which catches the light in interesting ways.

I made a cabled pullover with this yarn. The yarn is smooth and easy to work, and the end product is just gorgeous. Has such a thick and luscious gloss, but is super-soft with an amazing depth-of-color. Utterly no itch, whatsoever. I will likely be stashing more of this delicious yarn in the near future.

The twist in the yarn makes for beautiful, textured stitches - really gorgeous, I made a cabled scarf and a few pairs of mitts using this yarn and it's very nice. It does expand a bit when blocked, so swatch accordingly.

Scratchy. Felt acrylic-y. Nice deep colour though, would not buy again.

The silk and baby alpaca soften the wool just enough for the yarn to retain its strength.

It works up great & is wonderfully soft. Color shown on screen is exceptionally close to what it looks like in person. Very good price for the materials in the blend! Made me a huge Valley Yarns fan. Third one I have used & liked each one more.

Truth be told, I have yet to delve into this yarn, but it's absolutely gorgeous ... it's such great quality for the price.

What a beautiful yarn. It's a dream to work with. The finished product has not so much a sheen as a luster. Very rich! Will definitely use it again.

I work in Northfield so of course I had to knit with it. A real pleasure on the hands and resulting garment was an instant favorite. It stretched a bit after blocking so gauge accordingly. I'm definitely going back for more.

As a larger-sized woman, I'm discovering how smaller-gauge sweaters flatter my figure. Northfield is a lovely DK weight with softness and great stitch definition. I'm currently (and jealously) using it for a sweater for my husband, but I'll be buying more to use for myself.
