Ashland Bay Corriedale Cross

100% Corriedale Cross wool in a natural undyed ecru color. A medium soft wool with a long staple and even medium amount of crimp. This lustrous, resilient wool gives consistent results to handspinners, and is versatile enough to create springy yarns of varying weight for a wide variety of uses. This wool takes color consistently for dyeing projects and also felts well.

Note: Fiber ordered by the ounce may have its quantity adjusted before shipping to reflect its actual net weight.

Comments about Ashland Bay Corriedale Cross:

I use this as a base for felt-making, and it works out just fine. It felts easily, is not hairy or coarse, there is no vegetable material in the fleece. It is easy to lay out wisps--great neutral color and a good value for the price. I will be ordering more again soon.

Comments about Ashland Bay Corriedale Cross:

This fiber isn't as soft as some others I have received, but as a fiber for a beginning spinner, I would definitely recommend it! I had never spun in my life and I started this on my new spindle. It has a nice long staple length and, though it does tend to bunch up in places, it's mostly easy to draft. And when the fibers do bunch up it doesn't show too noticeably. Overall it is making a nice yarn so far. It does tend to shed a bit and get up my nose, but I imagine that's the case with most fiber so I'm not complaining :)

              Service and delivery comments:

Delivery was prompt and I got exactly what I ordered. I don't know if I was such a big fan of the way it came to me (all wrapped up together in a big ball of pieces) but that was easily fixed :) Overall, very satisfied.
