Regia Highland Tweed

Regia Highland Tweed is a true innovation in yarn design. The yarn is distinguished by a long color repeat for creating socks with wider bands of color, combined with a fashionable tweed effect. The color combinations are especially harmonious, creating a striking result without the need to change yarns - and has the quality you'd expect from Regia. Try this yarn for socks, hats and accessories. Made in Italy.

      Comments about Regia Highland Tweed:

I also add to my wool (to knit the hills and toes) the Jawoll Reinforcement Bobbins.
However, I cannot knit my black socks because I ordered some black a while ago and I still wait for them.

      Comments about Regia Highland Tweed:

Purchased because it's a mid-weight sock yarn that would knit up fast for the men in the family. The yarn has more man-made fibers than I'm used to. Has less 'bounce'. That said, I'm hopeful that, due to the amount of man-made fiber, it will wash and wear better.

        Comments about Regia Highland Tweed:

When I saw this in Deal of the Day, I had to write a review! I am knitting Sock Innovation Wanida socks in sand (2754). I'm getting about 7.5 stitches per inch on 2mm needles for really warm cozy feeling socks. At this gauge the fabric is thick (for dk) with substantial body, but soft with a slightly knubbly texture. The color shifts are gentle and in this colorway; beautiful neutral tones of tan and brown. A thick soft slightly slubby central ply that carries the color shifts is loosely wrapped in a single color thread. The effect is tweedy with a bit of halo. Care has to be taken to prevent splitting as the thread tends to disassociate itself from the thicker ply when inserting the needle. I am anxious to see what happens when I wash it. If all goes well, I will get some for a larger project.
