A wonderfully soft cotton to work with. While not recommended to machine wash, I found the colorfast excellent when washed on Hot and machine dried. Since I knit a lot of children's clothes, I like to "push" yarns to the limit for ease of care.

I knit with a loose gauge that draped absolutely beautifully.

Gauge used: 5.5 sts and 7.5 rws per 1" (Size US 7 Stockinette) This gauge produced as soft open knit. Perfect for warmer weather.

Could be used as a substituion for Sport Weight yarn (~135 meters/50 gram)

Price of buying on cones, even when not on sale, makes this a economical yarn, without sacrafice of luxury yarn.

It was suggested by a friend to buy this yarn. I made a summer cardigan, and loved every minute of it.
When I was done, I washed it to block it. In the wash the color was running, and it was shedding. I dried the cardigan flat, being careful not to stretch. Still, both the body and the sleeves grew at least 2". At this point I am not sure if I ever going to use this cardigan.

    Comments about Valley Yarns Noho:

This is 1 of my favorite yarns & I'm so sad to see it disappearing I had to order a couple more colors before they're gone. It knits up nicely, machine washes & dries well. The texture gives an interesting difference to lace sweaters.

When I'm looking for soft, beautifully colored cotton with a wonderful texture, Noho flake is my "go to" yarn for weaving. I've never been disappointed with it. I really appreciate the variegated colors--perfect for baby blankets. It coordinates very well with the standard yarn weights.

              Comments about Valley Yarns Noho:

I weave hand towels with this yarn. It's soft and beautiful, especially after washing. The slub (flake) style of this yarn helps make mistakes in weaving less obvious. It's easy to work with. I've used it for both warp and weft on a rigid heddle loom. I've also mixed it with 3/2 cotton in both warp and weft and have had no problems with differential shrinkage or anything like that. Works great and I'll definitely be purchasing more of it.

I ordered the Alabaster, expecting a warm, neutral off-white, and instead it was yellow! I decided to keep it, but it looked like the pale yellow, and not Alabaster! I thought at first that I was sent the wrong color! I like the yarn itself, and am knitting a summer cardigan with it.

I'm using this yarn to make an Amiga Sweater from Knitty. They yarn is very soft and has a nice hand. I don't often like to knit with cotton, but this is a pleasure to knit with. I'm even thinking of getting more of this yarn to make a 2nd sweater. I'm about 75% done with my sweater and have only had 1 knot in this cone!
