This soft yarn knits up beautifully. It has more drape than 100% ctton yarn and as much luster as mercerized cotton. Stitch definition is great. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the difficulty in avoiding hanging loops. The yarn is made of 10 or so tightly twisted plies, which separate rather easily (like embroidery floss) when you manipulate the yarn to make a stitch. I'm no neophyte - I've been knitting for 50 years - but I have to pay close attention to make sure I'm incorporating the full strand of yarn into each stitch. HOWEVER - if you don't mind focusing on your work, this soft yarn feels good in the hands and the finished product is well worth the effort. I'm using the pink, which is a nice delicate color without being boring.

This yarn feels great once it's knit up. It is super soft and I love the way it feels against my skin. But it's a nightmare to knit with because it splits. I was constantly cursing this yarn and hated myself for buying it.

Comments about Classic Elite Yarns Cotton Bam Boo:
I'm using this yarn to make a kerchief. The pattern called for DK weight yarn, so I bought this because the description says it is DK weight. However, the Classic Elite website classifies it as sport weight. The yarn is working well, however, and I actually like it because the kerchief will be lightweight for spring and summer. I'm fairly new to knitting, so I'm not yet familiar enough with different yarn weights when it comes to the lighter weights. So, maybe sport and DK are very similar.
The only drawback to this yarn is that it splits, so I have to be careful slipping my needle during knit stitches.

Comments about Classic Elite Yarns Cotton Bam Boo:
I had read the comments before purchasing this, and while I love the yarn, I must agree: it does split, quite a lot.
It also tends to slip off the needles easily, so I'd recommend avoiding nickel-plated needles.
And it is more like a sport weight than DK weight.
Other than those details, I absolutely love this! The texture is great and it has softness of bamboo.
I will definetly buy more of this.

Comments about Classic Elite Yarns Cotton Bam Boo:
This was a perfect yarn for my daughter going through chemotherapy. She lives in Alaska but any woll, Alpaca, or other animal fibers cause her bald head to itch. This yarn is very soft and breathes well so she doesn't get too warm inside where she works but is also dense enought to keep her head warm outside.

I am making a log cabin baby quilt out of this yarn. It is soft and beautiful. The colors are perfect, but I had to add a few others from similar yarn types to get enough for the design.

I made a sweater. I love the "hand" of the finished product, such nice drape.
The yarn does tangle rather badly. I found myself re-balling each skein before using it.

Merchant response: This yarn is listed as 6sts = 1" on US 5. This is right on the border of being considered DK weight instead of Sport, so they are very close.
